Story
CARSON is an 8 year old Portuguese Water Dog looking for a quiet household with active dog parents. He has some behavioral issues, so we are looking for an adult only home with one or two adults (no grandparents or in-laws) and an outdoors oriented family, who loves to hike, camp, etc. Carson is energetics and a lover of life and people 99% of the time. He is a resource guarder and has bitten several times over his life when somebody has reached in to pick up something that he was guarding. Most recently when the mother-in-law picked up a toy that he dropped when he was in an over excited state. Carson is very smart and very trainable, and these situations are very avoidable. Carson gets along well with cats and can be paired with a Doggy friend when introduced properly. He walks well on a leash with his head harness and has learned not to be reactive on his walks. He loves to play! Great in the car! A perfect travel, buddy! Has always been good for the groomer. And did I mention he loves to hike! If you are interested in adopting Carson, we would love to hear from you. Please fill out an application at www.companimals.org. There will be several meet and greets and several home visits prior to the final adoption so please, families within a normal driving distance only. Adoption $250. Carson is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and on prevention. January 26, 2025, 8:30 pm

Story
Let me start by saying that Hank is a loveable pup. We adopted him at 6 months old from a rescue about 14 months ago. He will turn two on 03/17. He still is very much a puppy. He is 100% house trained. He does not chew and is crate trained. We have 2 other dogs that he loves. The problem is he has anxiety. He is afraid/anxious of my husband and 3 teenage children. He barks and tries to run and hide when they enter a room. We have tried everything. He’ll put himself in his crate when we have friends or family over because he is afraid. He is 100% fine with me. Initially, it took him a few days to warm up to me. Hank would do great with a single mature woman. He is afraid of men and children. He will need a fenced-in yard and would do great with other dogs in the home. He loves to run and play ball. Other then his anxiety, he has no other health or behavioral issues.

Please contact Denise at 610-656-1291 (Fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.  This dog is located in New Castle, DE. Visit us on the web at https://fur-everpaws.com/fur-ever-paws-adoption-application/ to submit an application. Please contact the foster directly at 610-656-1291 (text or call) or via email at fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com or directly at preferredmail1@gmail.com Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. &#226&#128&#139 January 14, 2025, 6:41 pm
