You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Theo is a timid, non-aggressive dog who will need patience, structure, and a committed adopter. He is dog-friendly, does not mind cats, and may be reserved at first, but once he feels safe he is very affectionate. Theo will do best in a calm, stable home with clear routines and a securely fenced yard. With time and consistency, he has the potential to become a loyal and loving companion. REQUIRES- Fenced Yard  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Coco is a super sweet, playful dog who loves being part of the pack and playing with other dogs. He had a rough start in life but has learned to trust and now adores people—and he’s even good with cats! Coco is full of energy and would thrive in a home with another dog and a securely fenced yard. We would not recommend him for homes with small children. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Kiwi who has been in rescue since sje was 8 weeks old due to a back leg deformity. Now this beautiful girl is 9 months old weighs in at 9.5 pounds. After what felt like forever, she is finally fully healed from her multiple back leg surgeries and ready for her happily everafter. Kiwi does need a fenced yard, but we have worked on socializing so she is good with all humans and all small furry friends too! She is housetrained on pee pads and to go outside. She does have some sheltie and border collie in her genes so she loves to mouth, stomp her feet, dance and has a small amount of herding tendencies, but it is not unmanageable. She will need care her whole life to protect those back legs, meaning no jumping off stuff. However, she has shown how resilient she is by running and playing like a normal puppy should. This little lady is officially ready to leave the nest. To adopt Kiwi, please complete an adoption application at peacelovepoms.rescuegroups.org. The $350 adoption donation ($250 for senior citizens 65+) includes core vaccines (Rabies, Parvo/Distemper, and Bordatella), fecal, bloodwork, spay, dental, and all the love you can handle! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi! I'm Beau, a cute 6-year-old, 10-pound Pomeranian looking for my next great adventure of a forever home. I get along with my furry foster friends but will appropriately correct other dogs if they make me uncomfortable. I could do well as an only dog getting everyone’s full attention or with other small furry friends. I am completely housetrained and will even give you a little sign if you forget. I am leash trained, but I tend to pull or get a little excited on the leash causing me to cough so a fenced yard is required. Plus I have been known to go on solo adventures, so security is best! I love car rides, and meeting new friends. I'm okay with grooming until you get to my nails. I might need a muzzle there. I'm also okay with at the vet with a little help (sedative medication). I attach quickly to my humans and look forward to doing the same with my furever family. I just need to feel secure and have boundaries set with a crate in order to thrive. I am alternately a cuddler and independent type, so the best of both worlds. Are you my future family? Am I your future companion? To adopt Beau, please complete an adoption application at peacelovepoms.rescuegroups.org. The $350 adoption donation ($250 for senior citizens 65+) includes core vaccines (Rabies, Parvo/Distemper, and Bordatella), Accuplex (Heart worm and Lyme test), fecal, microchip, bloodwork, neuter, dental, and all the love you can handle! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Eddie is a 22lb, 14 year old Pomeranian and lab mix who is pretty spry for an old guy. Aside from being a professional napper, he loves a good trot through his foster mom's fenced backyard. Eddie is very quiet and only barks if he is unhappy with a visitor or situation, such as another dog getting into his personal space. For this reason Eddie would thrive in a home as an only dog. He takes some time to warm up, but given space, he will seek out your attention and lean into you for pets and belly rubs. Eddie is food driven and loves his treats after coming inside from going potty. While Eddie walks well on a leash and doesn't pull, a fenced yard is best since he doesn't love all other dogs. Eddie is vision impaired, but can see well enough to navigate furniture and steps. He also has a keen ear for plastic food wrappers. If you have a quiet, relaxed vibe in your home, Eddie would be a perfect companion for you. Eddie's coat is more like a lab and only requires regular brushing, as opposed to regular grooming like poms. He has had a recent dental, with only 6 remaining teeth, but he does well with eating small kibble. This senior boy is just looking for a comfy spot to reside for the rest of his days. To adopt Eddie, please complete an adoption application at peacelovepoms.rescuegroups.org. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Milo Jr is a 9-year-old, 20-pound Pomeranian with the softest heart and the sweetest soul. He’s truly a gentle little guy who loves being close to his people and would do best in a home where he isn’t left alone for long periods, he just wants to be near you. MJ is house trained, leash trained, rides well in a car, is good with all small furry friends, good with vet visits, and good with grooming. Milo loves food and takes mealtime seriously, he knows the schedule and will absolutely remind you when it’s time. Treats are his love language, and he’s never shy about letting you know he’s ready for one. Over the years, Milo was moved between homes due to unforeseen circumstances, none of which were his fault. Despite that, he was well cared for, and it really shows in his loving, trusting personality. He doesn’t quite know how to play with toys, but he’s very tolerant and will even let his foster siblings jump around him from time to time. Milo enjoys long walks and getting outside. It doesn’t seem like he’s ever had a fenced-in yard, and while he will eventually go to the bathroom on his own, he’s much more comfortable and confident going out on a leash. He does have some arthritis in his legs, but it doesn’t slow him down, he’s still happy to walk and explore at his own pace. Milo is also missing all of his top teeth, so regular tooth brushing will be important to keep his mouth healthy. If you’re looking for a loyal, food-loving companion who just wants to be by your side, Milo may be your perfect match. To adopt Milo Jr, please complete an adoption application at peacelovepoms.rescuegroups.org.
