Story
Groot has the cutest white heart on the top of his head and with that black mask around his eyes...I think he should be named 'Bandit' as he will steal your heart...but he does know his name when you call him. So if your interested in adopting 7 month old Groot...here are a few things I have learned about him: * He has separation anxiety and wants to be with you at all times! * He HATES being in his crate and will scream, whine and scratch the inside of his airline crate until you go get him out! His first night I tried 'tough love' an lost 9 hours of sleep as he never gave up or settled down! He is not suitable for apartment living due to the noise! * He is NOT potty trained yet...so pee pads and male wraps will be needed to avoid accidents in the House! He is learning from my dogs to pee outside...but it is not a habit yet. He was originally trained to use pee pads...but again he is a puppy and even that is Not guaranteed. He is learning by following my dogs...but he is a puppy and forgets. *If you adopt you need to commit to completing his training. He will come to his name being called...but again that is not guaranteed if he thinks he's in trouble! lol * He is a quick learner...but you have to remain consistent and repeat what you wish him to learn. Praise him lavishly when he gets anything right!! * He loves to chew on his leash...he is learning...but still resents being restrained. * He is timid at first with new people and new things or sounds. Once he warms up and knows he can trust you...he is a lot more confident! I have 4 large dogs who scared him when he first arrived...but now he is just one of the gang! We are looking for someone who is home a lot and can give him all the attention he demands! If you are willing to invest the time and effort to be patient with him and train him...he will be your best little buddy! To apply to adopt him...please go to our website at www.stfrancisrescue.org and click on the Adoptable Dog tab and then click on his picture. If his picture is not showing then someone else has already filled out his application. The St Francis Dog Team allows a week trial stay in your home before we make the adoption final...and it isn't always a good match once the pet gets into your home for a few days. If that happens then you just return Groot to us and we return your adoption fee and try again with another adopter. We want to ensure that everyone is happy with your new family member!!! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 *Please note that the St Francis Dog Team only adopts out to the immediate Tampa Bay areaFebruary 15, 2025, 10:19 pm

Story
Oliver is 11 and he looks young for that age. He is really chill when there’s not a lot of people or other dogs around. He does get bad anxiety in storms and fire works and is anxious a lot of the time but again, is relaxed in a relaxed space. Ideal home is a more chill environment.

Story
Parker is a healthy 17 year old Pomchi. Date of birth is 9/28/08. He is micro chipped. He is pretty chill and good with most all people, dogs & cats. He is pretty active for a dog his age. He will go on short walks with me and can jump up on the bed & sofa. The reason I am looking to rehome him is I travel a lot. I always have a house/dog sitter stay with him but he gets really sad. He is very attached to me and has separation anxiety. He is not destructive at all but he cries a lot and sits near the front door waiting for me to return. He also wakes up early, around 5ish and needs to go out and wants breakfast right away. He sometimes wakes up during the night and wants to go out. He has been with me since he was a puppy but I feel he's just really lonely and would be happier with someone who is home all the time. He is completely up to date on all shots and has always whatever care the vet recommended, including surgical dental cleanings.
