So Arika is an unusual name, right?? Well, yes it is!! It actually means "ruler of ALL" and I identify with that feeling :D OK, I am not the ruler of all, but I am the ruler of ALL my friends! We have kind of a democratic system set up...... I tell them what to do and they LISTEN and they do what they want! So, that is the level of my "ruler-ness". However, I have a lot more to offer than just rules and regulations.... I HAVE LOVE! You see, I know love and I know despair...my daughter Mika and I were found on the streets, eating trash and anything we could get our faces on.... until the day that a "street feeder/rescuer" found us. From that day forward we had HOPE... And here we are in the rescue and thriving! I rule all my friends and we are now just waiting for our furever homes. I am a big girl, kind of deceivingly... I don't look that big but weigh in over 70# I am great with other dogs- big and small, as long as they want to play and hang out, I am down with that... My bestest home would be with another playful dog and kids please :) So I am here waiting, and RULING, and waiting for you to find me! I will let you in on a little secret too... Marvin is a sweet and noble dog, 1.5 years old and 30 pounds. He was hanging around the shelter for a couple of weeks, he was given food, water and some love, but we decided to take him in when he arrived really injured and covered in blood, we think he was attacked by dogs. Fortunately in his medical checkup he didn't come out with many problems, and he is now healthy and ready for his new home! He knows how to coexist with other dogs, although he has his temper, he is usually very tolerant with effusive puppies. He likes to sleep in his giant bed, is crate-trained, house-trained and is sociable and friendly with new people. He knows how to ride in a car, and smiles when you scold him, he is adorable! We don't know exactly what breed he is, google lens finds a resemblance to an English Pointer and Andalusian ratter. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Calliope! She is an energetic and playful girl who is ready for her forever home! Calliope is a Pointer/Labrador Retriever mix, she weighs around 60 lbs and is around 2 years old. Calliope is very active, and she will need a family that can keep her properly exercised. Hiking, walks/runs, and a large, securely fenced yard to run would be ideal for her. She is very sweet but can get over excited and will need continuation of basic obedience as well as leash manners and working on not jumping when excited. Because she is large and jumpy, we are recommending no small children as she could accidently knock them over. Calliope is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $450.

Animal Profile: Harvey is an 12 month old male Pointer/Pit bull mix. His foster in Texas says he is friendly with people, great with the resident dogs and respectful of the cats. He is very treat motivated, and is doing well with potty training. He's also learned to sit nicely for his treats! Foster Update: Harvey is a sweet, well mannered boy who loves a good snack and can’t wait to play with his toys. He’s getting along great with the resident dog and has great play tendencies with all dogs we’ve seen him play with. He’s a little timid when meeting new people but warms up with a little time and some gentle support. Harvey is potty trained and is very well crate trained (he loves to spend time in his crate!). Harvey is looking for a home with a securely fenced yard and a canine companion. Harvey will need an experienced large breed owner to help teach him boundaries. We are not considering homes with small children at this time.
