FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Calliope! She is an energetic and playful girl who is ready for her forever home! Calliope is a Pointer/Labrador Retriever mix, she weighs around 60 lbs and is around 2 years old. Calliope is very active, and she will need a family that can keep her properly exercised. Hiking, walks/runs, and a large, securely fenced yard to run would be ideal for her. She is very sweet but can get over excited and will need continuation of basic obedience as well as leash manners and working on not jumping when excited. Because she is large and jumpy, we are recommending no small children as she could accidently knock them over. Calliope is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $450.

Marvin is a sweet and noble dog, 1.5 years old and 30 pounds. He was hanging around the shelter for a couple of weeks, he was given food, water and some love, but we decided to take him in when he arrived really injured and covered in blood, we think he was attacked by dogs. Fortunately in his medical checkup he didn't come out with many problems, and he is now healthy and ready for his new home! He knows how to coexist with other dogs, although he has his temper, he is usually very tolerant with effusive puppies. He likes to sleep in his giant bed, is crate-trained, house-trained and is sociable and friendly with new people. He knows how to ride in a car, and smiles when you scold him, he is adorable! We don't know exactly what breed he is, google lens finds a resemblance to an English Pointer and Andalusian ratter. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.

Animal Profile: Harvey is a 1.5 year old neutered male pit bull pointer mix who was rescued from Texas as a pup. Harvey does well with dogs and people, and has made a lot of strides in foster care. We look forward to finding his forever home. Foster Update: Harvey is a sweet, well mannered bully boy who loves a good snack and enjoys playing with toys. He is social and friendly with other dogs, and gets along great with the resident dogs in his foster home. We think Harvey would do well in a pack but could equally thrive as an only dog, provided he has a human companion to hike or play ball with, and then cuddle on the couch. Harvey has a good on and off switch; he's always down for adventure but doesn't need strenuous daily exercise for fulfillment. Harvey's been working hard on his manners and impulse control in foster care; he has taken well to loose leash walking and place command. He's also house and crate trained. Harvey is not exuberantly friendly meeting new people; he's more standoffish but not rude, and warms up quickly. He’s a perfect mix of playful and chill—while he enjoys his toys and a good game of tug, he’s really just a couch potato at heart. This boy has blossomed so much in foster care, gaining confidence and showing his silly, affectionate side. He’s in a foster home with both dogs and cats, making him a well-rounded, easygoing companion. Plus, he’s fully potty trained and never has accidents in the house! Porter is friendly, submissive but not fearful. He greets strangers with a wagging tail and happily soaks up attention. During a Super Bowl party with 12 guests, he was a perfect gentleman—no barking, no fear, just soaking up the love! He’s done great with other dogs, respects boundaries, and has even started loving toys. Porter does well in a crate and never soils it but isn't the biggest fan of being crated when home alone. The good news is he does great free-roaming—no destruction, just naps on the couch! He also walks easy on a leash, making strolls together a breeze.
