Story
Beautiful Winter is looking for her forever home and available to meet you, and your current furry friend, if you have any! Our pretty girl is a mixed breed, approximately 3 years old, fully vetted, microchipped and weighs 50 lbs. She has an all-white coat with speckles of tan dots sprinkled throughout. Winter is good with other dogs and would do well in a home with a happy, playful, well-adjusted dog(s) looking for closeness and a 4-legged companion. Fast play and tumbling around does not deter Winter. She may defer to her 4-legged companion for guidance and comfort, so it is essential that her play buddy has a caregiving nature, enjoys having a friend and has a mentoring soul overall. With that said, it is not essential that Winters forever home has another dog. Either way, we are looking for an experienced home that is calm, low key, and has compassion with a good understanding of animals that may take a little more time digesting new things. Winter can be bashful/shy when meeting new people at first so a quiet home with no children is best. Having a routine works very well for Winter. She does well on leash, enjoys walking and would enjoy hikes in the wilderness. She likes to play ball, is extremely smart, agile, knows her basic commands, is a definite thinker and learns quickly. She is crate trained, rides well in the car, and is currently in a foster home with another dog and 2 cats. Challenging her intellectually and physically gives her confidence and purpose. Her new home should have a completely fenced in yard (no invisible fence for Winter please). Winter’s soul will continue to blossom with your love, guidance and understanding. In return, she will bond with you wholeheartedly with affection, loyalty and devotion. If interested in learning more about Winter, and meeting her, please email Adoptions@smilingdogfarms.org and please include a phone number where you can be reached. WE ANSWER ALL EMAILS. PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN AN EMAIL FROM US. Please Note: We are always in need of foster homes for our dogs. If you're interested in making a difference in a dog’s life, we would love to share with you what it means to be a foster parent.

Story
Rocky has been a long stay in boarding while we got this little chowder head to focus. Apparently, his life had started with, best guess, young boys because his exuberance was over the top. We have finally gotten him under control. Other dogs still correct him at times because he just can't get that meet & greet scenario down pat, again exuberance. He is a very loving dog and would love the opportunity to live with someone who loves the outdoors and hiking. This boy needs a home where his people are with him. He is a person-loving dog, and the only way he can stay out of trouble is to be with his people. He can't help himself; at age 2, he can still be destructive if left to his own devices. Sorry, no apartments for this boy.

Story
Willow was adopted from Pack Leader Rescue back in 2019. She is a pointer mix around 65lbs. She does suffer from anxiety and is currently on fluoxetine to help offset this. She is normally the sweetest girl but she can be aggressive and reactive and this has led to a handful of incidents. She does live with another dog now and they’re fantastic together but doesn’t get along with any other dog. We unfortunately despite many efforts just can’t trust her around our infant son. She needs a home without children and other pets and would do well with consistent training. We loved her so much and she’s really a great dog most of the time but we cannot provide the best environment for her at this time

Story
Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: Yes, with proper introsGood with cats: NoGood with kids: Kids 16 +Crate trained: YesHouse trained: YesLilac is a sweet, lazy girl who is looking for a quiet home where she can play some fetch and then curl up in the dog bed and take a nap (her two favorite things). Lilac is wonderful with other dogs when properly introduced, and she loves to play. She would love a fenced yard to romp in. She can be leash reactive to new dogs, and though she has improved with training, this will always be something she needs to work on. For this reason, proper intros are a must with her.  She is also ecollar trained. so her perfect home would continue this training with her. She excels with structure and routine.Where Lilac still struggles greatly is with meeting new people in the home. Outside the home, and even a the vet, she is generally fine. When people that she does not know very very well come into the home, Lilac should be crated, leashed, or muzzled. She needs to be slowly introduced to new people, but once she gets to know you very very well, she's all in and is the kissiest, snuggliest girl.  She is even very sweet to pretty much everyone while muzzled, so that's an easy fix to keep her safe.  When people she does not know come into the home, she can get vocal,  but when introduced while muzzled she does fine.  Because of her reactivity to new people, a single family home is the best fit for her. She would not do well in an apartment. Lilac has had a long road, and while she has come a long way, she is very much still a work in progress. With the right family she will do just fine.Lilac's issues have happened in the past when her intros to new people coming into the home were not controlled.  So I can't emphasize enough that she needs to take it slow with new people :) But she will reward you for sure once you get to know her. Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at http://www.lasthopek9.org/ Questions? Story
Do you love backyard ZOOMIES ? So does Milo - and he is looking for a forever home This PAL is *Hearing Impaired* so he won’t ever judge you for singing in the shower or a bad joke ‍ Couch cuddles, belly rubs, and butt scratches are Milo’s love language. Despite his hearing, he is the typical dog that enjoys leisurely walks, lounging around, peanut butter, and chasing squirrels. Milo sleeps in his crate every night, hasn’t had any accidents with his foster and - he is a pretty chill guy!  Milo would love a home thats as chill as he is, where he can hang with his people and just be loved on.  Since he is hearing impaired, a home with large breed dog experience that doesn’t have a ton of action is a best fit Milo Highlights:@5 yo/50 lbs mixed breedCrate TrainedMedium EnergyHousebroken Loves CuddlingGood on LeashNeutered, Vaccinated, Microchipped Milo is a true example of a gals best pal_______________Fostered in Massachusetts- Apply today  please remember we are all volunteers, incomplete applications will not be processed If you are interested in adopting a GBP rescue PAL, please submit an application and we will reach out to you within 48 hours to start the approval process.  https://galsbestpal.com/adoption/ It’s ok if you don’t know exactly what you are looking for, we are experts in matchmaking and can talk with you and figure out what PAL would be a good fit for your home!  If you would like to inquire about saving a life & becoming a FOSTER HERO, please fill out an application and a FOSTER HEROES TEAM volunteer will reach out to you to go over our lifesaving foster based rescue program! https://galsbestpal.com/foster/ To learn more about our mission, and to join our mailing list go to https://galsbestpal.com/ Follow us on FB and Instagram for extra photos, updates & videos of our available dogs.
