Story
UPDATE!! Meet Margaret!! She’s another long time that came to us as a baby and is now pushing one year old and still looking for her forever family. Margaret is a gorgeous Pointer mix. She’s on the chunky side and pushing 50 lbs or so! She’s a happy go lucky girl who gets along with all. She adores kids and all people. She loves to run in the back yard and being with her people. She’s good on a leash and in a crate. Margaret is utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and spayed.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. We also have full-time jobs and Families. We will try to answer all questions and applications in a timely manner. Please be patient and bear with us . Do not contact any of the vet clinics we work with, as they are a vet clinic and can not answer questions on behalf of Wags and Whiskers. All questions and comments must go directly through the rescue. Thank you for your understanding. Story
Loki is the sweetest and most lovable dog. He loves cuddles, belly rubs, and treats. He is energetic and still needs some training, but has been doing so well in the sort time we have had him. We have already house trained him. He’s also a great little walker. We sadly found him abandoned in the streets and have been fostering him for the past couple of weeks. We would love to keep him but we already have 2 dogs and 3 is just bit too much for us. He has been getting along with our dogs and is very social!

Story
My name is Cookie. I am a 3 year old, 60 pound pointer/ American bulldog mix. I was surrendered by my previous owner to our local animal shelter in May 2023. My foster mom pulled me from the shelter on March 9, 2024. So, I was in the shelter 283 days. I know how to sit and learned how to use the doggie door within hours of being in my new foster home. I know how to wait patiently for my food. Mom doesn’t like me to eat until she says it’s okay. Mom taught me how to shake, if you offer your hand. I can easily learn commands if motivated with tasty treats. I don’t mind other dogs playing with my toys. I am housebroken and will need a fenced yard or an e-fence to stay safe. I am good on a leash, but I can become a little too interested in other dogs. I can be selective with my dog friends, but I like the two at my foster home. I have visited other dogs and we go on walks together. Proper introductions are very important for me to feel safe. Mom doesn’t let me around cats, as I love to chase them. I love toys. I love to chew. I love to play and my mom says my play bow is precious. My favorite game is tug. I can be left in my kennel all day, but when Mom gets home I have a ton of energy. She takes me on a 30-45 minute walk and I feel better. If I don’t get a walk after being in my kennel all day, sometimes I find stuff to chew on. I like kids, but I may be a little too rambunctious and play too hard for tiny toddlers. I love big fluffy beds and don’t mind cuddling on it with my foster sister. I take lots of naps between playtimes. I rarely bark and am typically a quiet girl.
