Story
We would like to introduce you to VEGAS, a 10 month old Plott Hound mix with the most magnificent brindle markings. VEGAS came to our pound as a stray with no training whatsoever. He wasn't housebroken, loved to jump on people, and wasn't leash trained. We sent him for training at the Belmont Correctional Institution to take part in the Cell Dog Training program. He has been there for a week now and the difference already is amazing! VEGAS is extremely smart and treat motivated. He is sweet and affectionate, and sits by your side. He is a good size and strong, but incredibly gentle around children, as if he knows they are little people who can't handle what an adult can. VEGAS is a pound favorite and has won the hearts of numerous staff members at BeCI too. We are accepting applications for VEGAS while he is in training so that when he graduates from the program, he can join a family. Don't miss out on this wonderful boy. A meetngreet prior to VEGAS leaving the program can be arranged for an approved adopter. Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. Cadiz, OH 43907 Open M-F from 10AM-4PM; Saturdays from 9AM-2PM; closed Sundays and holidays. Out of state adopters are welcomed. Apply to adopt online at harrisoncountydogpoundvolunteers.org. Story
We would like to introduce you to STELLA, a 10 month old Plott Hound/Smooth Coat Collie mix who came to our pound as a stray. STELLA is the kind of dog who loves everyone. She is sweet, loving and very affectionate. She loves to give hugs and be hugged in return. She has tons of personality, learns quickly, and is very treat motivated. She came to us as a stray with no training at all. We enrolled her in the Cell Dog Training Program at the Belmont Correctional Institution because she didn't have much, if any, training. She hasn't been in the program very long, but her handler said she is one fast learner and is making huge progress. We are accepting applications for STELLA so that when she is ready to graduate from the program, she can join a family immediately. A meetngreet can be arranged while she is training for an approved adopter. If you are looking for a best friend, check out STELLA. Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. Cadiz, OH 43907. Story
Meet handsome Lamar....this 2.5 year old plott hound/lab mix is 72 pounds of sweetness! He was picked up as a stray in St Thomas in February 2022 and spent months in the shelter where he shut down, not wanting to eat, walk or play. Neil, a volunteer at the shelter, fostered him and loved him until Neil left the island to work stateside. Instead of placing Lamar back in the shelter, the Pets With Wings Program brought him to Pet Search! Lamar loves other dogs and will thrive with a fur-sibling or two! and once he becomes comfortable, he will join and play, almost to the point of exhaustion! Lamar is very skittish when first meeting people and will bark out of anxiety, and will back away. After several weeks in foster care, he is warming up to his foster parents. Lamar needs time to adjust to new surroundings and will have accidents while feeling comfortable. He loves to sleep in bed or on a sofa, but is crate trained also. Lamar has shown no reactiveness to cats and would be a great playmate for older children due to his size and weight. Applications can he found at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PAPS/Dog KL#03301 Washington PA 15301

Story
Let it go, let it gooooooo ...Can't hold it back anymore ... Yes, my name is Elsa, just like that Elsa! I came into this world in February, right in the middle of a chilly San Antonio winter when the temps were plummeting, and life was tough for many. But fate smiled upon me, and a kind-hearted man and his family came to my rescue, sparing me from the freezing cold. I'll be honest; I'm a sensitive soul. Loud voices and sudden noises tend to rattle me, but let me tell you, once I've warmed up to you, I'm a different dog entirely. I'll shower you with kisses and share my whole heart. You see, I'm not just pretty on the outside; I'm smart and gentle, too. What I need most is a patient family willing to give me the time and space to settle into my new home. Trust me; I have so much love to give. In my foster home, they've discovered a side of me that shines when I play with their Big Great Pyrenees. We're like a couple of kids, playing hide and seek, and chasing each other around. I'm also a sunbather at heart, so outdoor lounging in the sun is a favorite pastime of mine. Now, here's the thing: I'm not a fan of long car rides, and I can get a little nervous. But if you speak to me gently and reassure me, I'll find my courage. Leash walks can be a bit tricky too, but with your patience and encouragement, I'm willing to give it a try. In the evenings, I like to cozy up in bed with my humans, though I don't demand it. I just love to be near the ones who care for me. I'm on the lookout for a forever home, a place where I'll be cherished and appreciated just as much as I have been in my foster family. If you're seeking a loyal companion who's ready to bloom with your love, look no further - I'm right here. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Have you ever read a novel that has so many twist and turns that by the time you get to the last chapter, you have NO idea who won and who is the REAL good guy?? Well, I believe my life is like that. I came from somewhere, no one really knows where, and I ended up at the pound, somehow.... So i was actually adopted as a cute puppy from the pound..... and THEN 5 months later... I was saved at a busy intersection with a badly injured back leg.... no "family" around :( SO, luckily I was saved by a RESCUER!!! I mean, what are the odds?? So my name is Artie and now I am healed up and looking for my furever REAL family. I am a great sized pup, 30# of fun and love and all kinds of playtime! I love to run and play, tug of war and keep away I excel at and the zoomies too! I am great with other dogs, and kids and am ok with cats but require a good introduction and experienced dog/cat introducer with monitoring as I may chase a kittie if it runs. So, I also have learned quite a few commands, sit, stay, crate, working on leave it. I am super smart AND MOTIVATED to help find my next best chapter. I will cuddle with you when I am tired and I love to be close to you. ADOPT ME SOON!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)
