Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Dillon, one of our newest residents at the Mikey & Me kennels for Happy Days Rescue. Dillon is a handsome and quirky little mixed breed dog, he’s approx. 10 months of age, he has a soft, brindled coat, and he weighs approximately 45 pounds. Dillon enjoys meeting new people and he’s reported to do well with other dogs. Dillon was pretty scared upon arrival so we’re giving him some down time to decompress. He is extremely friendly but he doesn’t always want to go outside. But after only three days, he has settled in to his new environment, built trust with members of our volunteer team, and he seems eager for his next adventures. Dillon was vaccinated in late December, shortly after being found as a stray and fending for himself. His first Vet appt. is being scheduled this afternoon; he will get additional vaccinations, a microchip, and whatever else he is due for. If you would like to meet this quirky, sweet boy, please submit an adoption application under his name at happydaysdogandcatrescue.org. Otherwise, please help me find Dillon’s forever home by sharing this post with your friends and family, if you can.   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 11, 2025, 4:28 am

Marco A17176538 lb. neutered male, approx 10 months old -Walks decent on a leash-Super food motivated-Sits and is working on taking snacks gently-Not currently into toys-He’s sometimes scared in new situations and finds comfort in your lap for snuggles-Has a great nose and can sniff out all the snacks! Food puzzles and enrichment would be great for him-He’s affectionate and gives kisses-Will need some puppy training. Please keep that in mind if you want a puppy. They require time and patience to be the best that they can be! -Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-3:30 BUT our adoptions are done 7 days a week from 10:30am -3:00pm. •The last potential adopter must arrive before 3:00 pm so we have time to properly help you before closing. **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit

Story
Looking for a dog who`s got the looks (big head, short legs, long body), and the personality (a little goofy, a lot playful)? Meet Jefferson, the dog who`s got it all — except maybe the ability to be serious. This guy’s a Plott Hound and Basset Hound mix, so you know he`s an expert at sniffing out a good time.Jefferson’s got the kind of looks that’ll make you do a double-take. With his short, stubby legs and long body, he’s built like a loaf of bread that you can`t help but smile at. And his big ol` head? It’s just the right size for all the dog thoughts happening in there. What does Jefferson love? Well, he’s a big fan of squeaky toys — the squeakier, the better! He’ll spend hours making that thing squeak, probably with a grin on his goofy face the whole time. He’s also a social butterfly and LOVES playing with other dogs. If you’ve got a dog buddy for him, they’ll be besties in no time.As for kids? He’s recommended for those 12 and up (he’s got energy to spare and might try to wrestle them into submission). He could use a little work on his manners, though. You know, just some basic obedience (no more jumping up to say “hello” like he’s just been invited to a party). Oh, and about the vet? He’s a bit of a wiggle monster when it’s time for a blood draw. So be prepared for some adorable squirming — and maybe a few `oops, I missed` moments. If you’re looking for a dog that will steal your heart, keep you laughing, and leave you with a big smile every day, Jefferson is your guy! Ready to add some fun (and some squirmy moments) to your life? Apply today! If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is SPONSORED!
