--FOSTER PUPDATE--Marco A17176545 lbs. neutered male, approx 1 year oldHey hooman friends! Marco here, aka Marky Mark, reporting live from my foster home. Life is WAY better now that I'm out of the shelter! My foster family says I'm a very good boy, so let me tell you all about myself. My PersonalityYoung, energetic, and always ready for fun!Super affectionate—I give kisses, and I love pets and snuggling, but I’m also happy to chill on my own.Very curious and alert! I like to take in the world around me.When I’m excited, nervous, or overstimulated, I whine to tell you how I feel. But once I settle in, I’m good!I have adorable ear kabooms and I’m soooo handsome. (Foster pawrents say so, and they wouldn’t lie.)My Favorite ThingsTOYS! Stuffies with crinkles (so fun to destroy), Nylabones, sticks, and anything I can shred are my jam. Tennis balls are meh, and rope toys and squeakers get me a little too hyped up.Running around the yard! I’d probably be a great jogging or hiking buddy.FOOD. I’m very treat-motivated, which makes training super fun!Enrichment activities—puzzle feeders, Kongs, snuffle mats, and shredding boxes with kibble inside keep my brain busy.Training & Home LifePotty trained: Just a couple of (#1) accidents at first, but none since. I know which door to go to, but I haven't learned to announce my business yet.Crate trained: I sleep 7-8 hours in my crate at night and even nap in there during the day. I also do well behind a baby gate. I haven’t been left home alone yet, though.Puppy stuff: It's fun to grab a shoe when someone comes in the door--having visitors is so exciting, I just can't help myself! When I'm feeling playful down on the ground, I might give you some affectionate "pibble nibbles", and when I get really excited, I might mistake your hands or feet for toys. Whoops. But I'm pretty gentle about it, and I'm trying really hard to chew on my toys instead!I know stuff! Like “sit”, “down”, “off”, “stay”, and “come”. I’m working on “drop”, “leave it”, and “watch me”. I’m a smart boy and I really want to do what you’re asking me to! I just get distracted sometimes.Leash walking is a work in progress. I get excited and pull on walks when I see other dogs. Or birds. Or leaves. Walks are amazing.New things (like the TV and wall art) were spooky at first, but I adjusted quickly. I just need a little time to adjust to new places. My Ideal Home Will Have:A yard to zoom around in, or just plenty of exercise and enrichment!Patient, gradual intros to any pets--I saw a cat a few times from behind a baby gate and was very interested but didn’t bark, growl, or charge. And I’d REALLY like a dog friend, but I’m still learning my manners and how to control my excitement.Someone who will keep up with my training and see my potential to be a really, really, good boy!I can’t wait to find my forever family! Could that be you? This pet is in a foster home!
