Dog's Name: Baby Gidget (GID1024BIBFD)Estimated Breed: Plott Hound mixApproximate Age: 8 weeks Approximate Weight: 7-8 LBS Currently Living at: Foster Adoption Fee: $500DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Meet Baby Gidget! Sweet Gidget and her brother, Baby Gizmo, came from an overcrowded shelter in Macon, Georgia. Gidget has landed herself a nice foster home, but what she really wants is to find her forever home. Could that be with you? Due to all the changes in her young life, Gidget is a little shy. She will need a little time and patience to feel comfortable in her new home. She does great with other dogs and might do best in a home with a confident and welcoming resident dog. She will grow to become a wonderful companion for many years to come. At Gidget's young age, she is in her prime for training and socialization. Fill out an application today and meet Gidget – you're not just getting a pet; you're giving a second chance to a deserving girl!
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
