Story
With one blue eye and one brown eye, Tito sees both the earth and the heavens, making him a truly special boy! At two years old, this handsome pup has the perfect balance of playfulness and calm. He walks beautifully on a leash, knows "sit," and takes treats nicely (most of the time!). Tito isn’t jumpy or overly rambunctious—he has a low to medium energy level that makes him an excellent walking or jogging partner. He has a great temperament with other dogs and shared a kennel with another dog when he was in the shelter. But what really makes Tito shine is his affectionate nature—he adores attention, gives the sweetest kisses, and even rubs against you like a cat when he wants love. He’s treat-motivated, playful, and loves a good game of fetch. Most of all, Tito bonds closely with his person and would love a forever home where he can be your loyal companion. If you're looking for a loving, happy, and well-mannered dog to join your life’s adventures, Tito is the one for you! ***TITO IS CURRENTLY FOSTERED IN TX, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Story
Aria is a sweet, loving, rambunctious 2 year old plott hound. She LOVES people and lives with a cat currently. She also lives with 2 young children. She is high energy and would love an active home where she gets plenty of time outside to sniff and explore. She likes to play with other dogs, but can be selective about her playmates. Aria is house broken, crate trained (although she would prefer to snuggle in bed!), and food motivated (good for training!). She walks well on a leash, and is working hard on her manners. With enough exercise, she is laid back in the house and snoozes on the couch all day. Aria would love an adopter that likes to run, hike, and spend plenty of time outdoors. Aria is a very typical hound -- confident, smart, stubborn, loving, and loyal. She is a fantastic dog, but our lifestyle doesn't give her the time and attention she needs to thrive.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- BRINN IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW.Hello, I'm Brinn. My days as a hunter are behind me, but I still have a keen sense of curiosity. I may be a senior, but I'm young at heart. I'm smart, brave, and mellow. I love to explore, but I also enjoy a good nap. I'm a gentle soul who loves to meet new friends. I'm as loyal as they come, and I promise to be your steadfast companion. I'm sweet and friendly, always ready to greet you with a wagging tail. Adopting me means gaining a friend who will cherish every moment with you. I may be in my golden years, but I have a lot of love to give. I'm looking for a forever home where I can spend my days being loved and cherished. I promise, I'll be the best friend you've ever had. I'm dog-friendly and seem to like cats (more cat testing can be done).Brinn is spayed, and vaccinated for dhlpp, bordetella, and rabies. She has a 4DX heartworm test and microchip with lifetime registration. Story
Jolene is a brindle beauty! She loves her people and has learned some improved leash manners. Jolene is still working on her self-control when she's out and on a leash. (Sometimes she's a little much when she sees other animals.) We think Jolene would be happiest as your only dog, so that she can have all the love and continue to learn how to make good choices.

Story
Your sweet and calm companion!Cassie is a calm, loving 3-year-old girl with a heart full of affection. She arrived at Tara's House with two of her puppies, Frankie and Phoebe, after being rescued as a stray from rural West Virginia. While much of her past is unknown, one thing is clear—Cassie is a remarkable mom and a gentle soul. Despite a challenging start, she gave birth to eight healthy, robust puppies, and her care and cleanliness made her a standout mother. Now settled in a foster home, Cassie continues to show just how wonderful she is. She peacefully coexists with the resident dog and cat, and her low-to-medium energy level makes her the perfect companion for those who enjoy a relaxed atmosphere. Cassie is a people-loving dog who craves affection and enjoys snuggling up for quiet moments. Her calm demeanor makes her a joy to be around, whether you're lounging at home or out for a stroll. Cassie is well-mannered and knows basic commands like 'sit,' 'down,' 'wait,' and 'shake.' Her leash manners are impeccable—she walks calmly beside you, stopping and sitting when you do. And she's recently discovered a love for car rides! Though she once lived a quiet, lonely life, she now eagerly jumps into the car, fascinated by the world around her. Cassie crates well and sleeps through the night, though she'd much prefer to snuggle up beside you if you'll let her! She's a sweet, loving companion who would be perfect for a family looking for a loyal and gentle dog. Cassie is good with children aged 10 and up, making her an ideal fit for many homes. If you're searching for a kind-hearted, affectionate family dog, look no further—Cassie is ready to bring love and joy into your life. Apply today to give this amazing girl the forever home she deserves! Cassie’s adoption donation fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip. You can apply for Cassie by filling out our online application, which is found on our website www.tarashouse.org.  Please email us at info@tarashouse.net with any questions.October 21, 2024, 8:45 pm
