Story
BROCCOLI IS HIS FAVORITE TREAT  DOB 6/25/14, weight 12 pounds Hey there, everyone! I’m Oliver, an affectionate, charming, confident “harlequin” Pekingese mix fella who enjoys being my foster mom’s constant companion. “Harlequin” means that I’m mostly white with dark gray on my ears and unusual round gray dots on my back. I’ve got an adorable face, if I do say so myself, with my short muzzle and big, dark eyes. We “Pekes” develop tight bonds with our favorite hoomans, and I’m no exception. I enjoy when Foster Mom grooms me as well as coos sweet nothings in my ear. I’m enthusiastic about our car rides, and I’m a big fan of fruits and veggies. Yes, tomatoes, carrots, and especially broccoli are all treats for me! I’m so very grateful that she scooped me up and took me home when she found out that my family had dropped me off at the vet in order to be euthanized. This abandonment was very devastating to me because I’m healthy and thought that I was a member of their family. I can only assume that they didn’t want me or couldn’t afford even a small pet anymore. Fortunately Foster Mom was very patient with me and allowed me to adjust to my new “digs” at my own pace. I’m a chill guy who likes to be a couch potato and sleep to my heart’s content. I have free run of the house at night, and I sleep in my bed at the foot of her bed. I enjoy sleeping in my kennel, but I prefer that the door be left open. Being locked up in my crate triggers memories of my being cooped up for long periods of time while my previous owners were at work, so I’ll bark until I’m freed. I get along great with the multiple dogs and cats in my foster home, although we all do our own thing. My ideal home could be a single, couple, or family with kids seven years of age or older. If the adults are retired or if someone works from home, that would be an extra bonus because I’m so people-oriented. Another cat or dog companion would be fine, although I know there are perks of being an only pet-child. If you’re looking for a compact fur-buddy of undying loyalty and many subtle delights, I’m your man! Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much love to give – all I need is YOU! HOPE ID D24-0727-0025 If you are interested in Oliver and would like to fill out a Dog Adoption Application, please go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php . Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Conrad is a 10 year pekingese mix who weighs 10lbs. He has had a rough time in his senior years and found himself at the Pasadena Animal Shelter in horrible condition. He was a matted mess with infected skin, an infection in his prostate (common in senior/unaltered males), terrible dental disease, a large gall stone and cataracts causing some mild vision impairment. After extensive vetting, Conrad is now on the road to recovery and feeling so much better. He is now neutered and has had his teeth cleaned. Most of them needed to be extracted but he does just fine with eating kibble and even enjoys chewing soft bones. He has been treated for his various infections and all are resolved. He is on medication for his gall stone indefinitely, but it is shrinking and the cost of these meds in not expensive. He will need to be on Denamarin and Ursodial for life (about $60 a month). Conrad spends a lot of time napping and also enjoys basking in the sun or roaming around the yard. He sees great in the daylight, but has difficulty seeing in the dark. A secure backyard without a pool would be best for Conrad. He is crate trained and mostly house trained but will occasionally mark. This is an easy fix with a belly band and will hopefully subside now that he is neutered. Consist and predictable outside time will also help with house training. He is a happy guy most of the time but can sometimes be a bit ornery when he is woken up suddenly. We think he is probably not used to being able to trust his environment so he sometimes feels he needs to defend himself. He will growl out of fear, but has never bitten. Conrad simply needs a quiet place to rest and be loved for his remaining years. An adult only home would be best for Conrad. Conrad is heartworm positive but the cost of treatment will be covered by the rescue. Conrad is undergoing the slow kill method and has received a ProHeart-6 injection and 30 days of doxycycline. He will be retested in 6 months. Adoption fee is: $200 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs. EIN # 46-5486022

Story
Meet Cassie, an 11-year-old Pekingese with a heartwarming story of resilience and hope. Weighing 13 pounds, this sweet girl has faced hardship and neglect but is now on a journey to find a forever home where she can be spoiled and loved as she deserves. Cassie's story began in tragedy when she and four other dogs were cruelly thrown from a car. Thankfully, a kind-hearted Samaritan rescued them and took them to the shelter, where Camo saved them from euthanasia. Despite her rough past, Cassie is the sweetest thing on earth and craves nothing more than the love and affection of her human. Cassie is incredibly dog-friendly and low-maintenance, making her an easy addition to any home. She has bravely adapted after having one of her eyes removed and now takes medication for dry eye. Cassie has also had a dental cleaning and is ready for a fresh start. This resilient little Pekingese is looking for a loving family in the Houston area who can provide her with the care and attention she needs. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a loving and gentle soul, Cassie is waiting to meet you and show you just how sweet life can be with her by your side. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Shelley is a very sweet blind 10 or so year old Pekingese. She only weighs about 10-12 pounds. She was a former breeder dog for someone, who was not kind to her. Her hair has grown back and she is healed and ready for a loving home. She lost an eye, due to dry eye but she can navigate where she needs to go. She is fully vetted, spayed and had a dental cleaning. She can learn the routine and lay out of a home very quickly. She loves to play with my husband and really likes treats. She barks to go outside. She's living with four other dogs and two cats. Shelley is a very sweet and loving Pekignese that was dumped out of a car with 4 others. They were all seniors in terrible condition. She is so sweet and gentle. Her golden years should be full of love and naps Adoption fee is: $200 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract.
