Story
Hello. I got my pet from my grandfather when I was around 12 years old. She is a little on the older side (around 12/13 years) but she has a young heart, moves around well, and is very playful. She is extremely healthy and has no issues medically. I want my dog to have a safe home and to be comfortable. She does have behavioral issues, unfortunately. I am here to be honest- she does bark around new people, she tends to growl sometimes, and she has snipped before (not random strangers but me). Occasionally she can be rowdy and have an attitude. But most of the time she is calm and will walk around the house, relax, and look outside of the sliding door. It will take her some time to warm up to new people, at first she will be alert, but when she does she is sweet and very calm. She will let you know when she wants to go outside and come in. She is protective but also a scaredy cat. I am a college student/work 12 hour shifts. I am unable to care for her properly. Need someone patient.

UPDATE!&#226&#156&#168 Meet Dobby! This sweet boy was left abandoned in an apartment by his family and taken in by animal control! He came to us a few weeks back and has settled into foster care. Dobby is a 8 year old Pekingese . Dobby does only have one eye but that does not slow this boy down. He’s great with all people and animals. Great in the house and a true lovebug. He’s utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and neutered.   Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you! Story
UPDATE!! Handsome Leo is a sweet Pekingese boy who was sadly dumped at a local overcrowded shelter. Leo is around 8 years old and 18 lbs. He is missing one eye and sadly has a terrible eye ulcer (we are now treating) that has left him with limited vision. They truly don’t get any sweet than this boy. He’s great with all people and animals. Does well in the house, crate and car. He walks on a leash and is a wonderful companion. He would love a calmer household to lounge around and get the royal treatment he deserves. He is utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and neutered. Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications!
