* Interested in adopting? Please read the dog’s full biography to see whether they may be a good fit for your home, then submit an application at www.dpsrescue.org. All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption.Adoption $750 Apricot looks like a tiny storybook dog that was magically brought to life just to follow you around the house and love you forever. This 10-12 month old Papillon/CKC mix weighs 12lbs and was rescued from the shelter, though honestly he looks less like a shelter dog and more like a miniature Golden Retriever who accidentally got shrunk in the wash. With his gorgeous auburn coat, fluffy ears, soulful brown eyes, and ridiculously soft fur, Apricot has the kind of face that makes strangers stop mid-sentence and say:“Well THAT’S the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.” And the worst part? His personality somehow matches the face. Apricot is sweet in the gentlest, softest kind of way. He is calm, affectionate, sensitive, and incredibly devoted to his people. He loves being near you — quietly following from room to room, curling up nearby while you work, or politely placing his tiny paws on your leg like he would like to formally request additional neck scratches. Not demanding. Not chaotic. Not bouncing off the walls like a caffeinated squirrel. Just happy to exist near the people he loves. When Apricot first arrived, he was nervous and unsure of the world, but once he realized he was safe, his personality blossomed almost immediately. Now he happily trots around the house, naps in cozy spots, plays fetch, wrestles with toys, and supervises household activities with the seriousness of a retired neighborhood watch captain. He LOVES his humans. If you sit down, he would love to sit beside you.If you are working from home, congratulations — you now have an adorable unpaid intern. If you go to the bathroom, he will likely accompany you because privacy is apparently just a suggestion now. Apricot is playful without being wild. He loves short games of fetch, tug-of-war, and chase, but after a few minutes he is fully prepared to resume his primary life passion:competitive lounging. This boy LOVES a cozy couch, soft blanket, sunny window, or warm lap. He would thrive in a home where someone is around often because being close to his people is truly his favorite thing in the world. And honestly? He has perfected the art of being ridiculously lovable. He explores the house like a tiny curious gentleman and occasionally gets himself trapped in the master bathroom when the door slowly swings shut behind him. Instead of panicking, he simply sits calmly on the bath mat waiting for rescue like:“Well. This is my life now.” He is house trained, gentle with children, friendly and respectful around other dogs, and has shown absolutely zero interest in causing chaos. He is not destructive, not barky, and not interested in making poor life choices. Unless there’s a bully stick involved. Then all bets are off. Apricot’s ideal home would be one where he gets lots of companionship, affection, and cozy time with his humans. He truly bonds deeply with people and wants nothing more than to love and be loved in return. If your dream dog is:✔️ affectionate without being overwhelming✔️ playful without being exhausting✔️ calm without being boring✔️ fluffy enough to resemble an expensive decorative pillow then Apricot may genuinely be your perfect match. And fair warning:once someone meets this dog, it is very hard to imagine leaving without him.May 16, 2026, 7:07 pm

Story
Max  is a super sweet, tender-hearted pup who is looking for a patient, loving home. While he may be timid at first—often preferring to watch the world go by from a cozy, safe spot—he has a heart of gold and is incredibly gentle when he warms up. Energy Level?  Medium House trained?  No, we keep him in a pen with potty pads when we can take him outside. But he is smart and very eager to please his human. He will get it in no time with consistency. Describe how they are on a leash?  He is not used to walking on a leash, but is much better with a harness. Max does not like being pulled by his neck with just a collar. Currently, I have fastened the Martingale collar to the harness in order to be able to practice walking on a leash for his safety. Describe how they are with other dogs?  Max is friendly and great with other dogs.  Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they?  Max is great with the resident dog. I have found them snuggling together on the couch. He has passed the cat test and would be fine with cats. Commands they know?  Max comes when you call him, but he hasn't had much training and would definitely benefit from basic training. What are their favorite things?  Cuddles, hanging out outside, playing with plushy toys, and mealtimes. What do they need to work on?  Building confidence, basic training, and leash training. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone?  Max sleeps when he is left alone. He may cry for a few minutes at first, but he stops within 5 minutes. The longest time I have left Max at home is 5 hours, and he did just fine. Where do they sleep?  Max sleeps on his bed in his xpen. What is their ideal home?  With patience and consistency, sweet Max would do great with any family. Max is 3 years old and 10.71 pounds.     The Adoption fee is $325.   For adoption consideration or to meet our dogs , please complete our online adoption application at  www.everypetsdream.org/adopt . Story
Shorty is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart. Sweet, gentle, and full of love, he may be a little shy at first, but once he warms up, he becomes the most loyal cuddle buddy you could ask for. He loves soft attention, cozy naps, and staying close to the people he trusts. Shorty has a calm, loving spirit and a sensitive soul that makes every little moment with him feel special. All he really wants is a safe place, a little patience, and someone to love forever.

Story
Bean is a gentle, soulful companion looking for a calm, adult-only home where he can truly relax and blossom. With his low-energy, mellow nature, Bean is happiest curled up beside you, quietly soaking in your presence. He’s the definition of a lap dog—once he feels safe, he’ll lean into you with soft affection, showing just how much he trusts you. Bean can be a bit shy at first and needs time to adjust to new surroundings, but patience and kindness go a long way with him. He’s especially motivated by affection, responding best to gentle encouragement and a loving touch. His soft mouth and easygoing temperament make him a sweet, considerate companion. He gets along well with other dogs, though he’s just as content enjoying peaceful one-on-one time with his person. Bean isn’t looking for a fast-paced or noisy environment—he’s searching for a quiet home where he can build confidence at his own pace and share his quiet loyalty. If you’re someone who appreciates the beauty of a slow bond and the comfort of a calm, devoted friend, Bean might just be the perfect match.

Story
Chihuahua Mix Age: > 1 yrs old Male, neutered 7 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Charlie was dropped off at the Berkeley Animal Shelter by someone who initially stated that they “found him.” Then it was discovered that person actually had the dog for a couple of months, so it was treated as an “owner surrender.” He has no real use of his back legs. They were froze/locked in a rigid position, so he used them to steady his back end, but he wasn’t able to actually move them in any useful way. X-rays of his spine showed a major deformity that he was likely born with. The shelter didn’t have the resources to care for this kind of disability. They called us before making the decision to euthanize him. We have determined that Charlie is incontinent (bowels and bladder) due to his condition. He mostly gets around by dragging his hind legs, and occasionally using his legs as “crutches”. The foster family hasn’t done a lot of work on getting him to use a wheelchair/cart. As a puppy he is very playful. He had to learn a lot of puppy manners while interacting with the other dogs in the home. He is doing pretty well in that area. Charlie would do well in a home with other friendly, playful dogs his size. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Charlie, contact: nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com
