Story
Meet Rosco! He is a sweet boy but can be a bossy one, though regardless he always has a lot to say! He needs a home that is active and can provide lots of stimulation. Rosco can be protective, or even territorial in a setting that has kids, so he would do best in child-free home. He is very excitable, and every person he greets can't help but smile at his precious scruffy face and wiggly tail. Rosco loves to go for walks with his favorite humans, but enjoys playing in the yards with his doggie friends just as much. We love Rosco and we are sure you will love him too! Apply to come and meet Rosco today!

Story
Adoption Pending. Furguson is about 4 years old and 16 lbs. He is a nice little dog who loves hanging out with you. He gets along with other dogs but doesn't want to play with them. He would love to be an only dog if you do not work a full workday and would need a canine companion for him if you do. Furgus is a people dog and gets along with men and women but he lights up when he sees a man. No young children should be in the home where he lives because he has no patience with them. He is a sweet and good-natured fellow who can also be very vocal when he wants and has much to say. A perfect day for him is a stroll through the backyard, walking, riding in the car, or just sitting in his bed next to you or on the chair where you sit. He is not interested in toys at all. Furgus sleeps all night in his bed and is house-trained. He is a loving dog who needs to be in a quiet home where he can let his hair down. We do not know how he would be with cats in the home. Furgus is being fostered in San Francisco. His adoption fee is $275.00. Please contact us for more info or an application to adopt at dogzonerescue@yahoo.com Arrangements to meet our dogs occur after an application has been received.

Story
Meet Molly 💖🐾 Molly is a 12lb, 2yr old Terrier mix. Talk about a diamond in the rough!! Molly is that girl!! Molly came into rescue scared and not wanting anything to do with me. Fast forward 3 weeks, and Molly has blossomed into the most loving sweetest girl you could ever meet. Molly loves to be held, loves to cuddle, takes treats gently, and although she gets along with other dogs, she really only wants to be with her people. Molly is a people pleaser and is treat motivated(when she trusts you), so she would be one to teach fun tricks to or just teach her basic manners. Molly will be shy and standoffish in her meet/greet, but if you’re willing to give her the time and space she needs you wont regret it. She is the diamond in the rough who will give you the most rewarding, heartwarming loving companion. Molly is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on her rabies vaccine. If you are interested in meeting Molly, please fill out an application at www.broketailrescue.org, located under the contact tab.

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday,November 2nd from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $700   The Pie puppies are a litter of 8 week old Poodle mixes who are just as sweet as … Well pie! This litter was born into our rescue to Mama Pie who was saved from a hoarding case. We suspect there are several dads in this litter as each puppy looks super unique. The puppies have grown up in some of our best foster homes and now they’re ready to head out on their next adventures with you! This litter is 3 boys and 1 solo girl. The puppies will be in the small size range when they are fully grown and are just the cutest bundles of love and fun. These puppies will likely shed, so they won’t be an option for those with allergies. If you’re ready for some holiday sweetness, come on down to the DPS Bakery and adopt a Pie today!      Apple (M): Apple is a fluffy little explorer who is determined to tick off every item on his travel bucket list! Looking for a companion to take on the world with? Apple is your guy! He loves to run around and sniff his surroundings, meeting lots of new people and pets wherever he goes. With his fluffy coat and his adorable puppy dog eyes, Apple has a knack for getting whatever he wants. It’s hard to say no when the face is that cute. Apple has unique markings with a little poof of white fur on his head. It’s the perfect size for kisses we’ve discovered. Apple’s special talent is seeing an open lap from across a room and charging like a bullet to launch into your arms. He’s the life of the party, and sometimes he even gets a party going if he decides some fun is needed! Come meet this American tradition and grab some Apple Pie!  Blueberry (M): Blueberry is a snuggle bunny who is looking for his foodie family to eat his way through the world. With his fluffy, soft coat and adorable puppy dog eyes, Blueberry learned quickly how to “trick” his foster mom into giving him more snacks. When he isn’t eating, he’s zooming around the playpen chasing his siblings or a squeaking toy! This little man thinks he is quite ferocious as he pounces on a toy and tries to drag it around the pen. Sadly for Blueberry, most toys are bigger than him but he doesn’t let that stop him from trying! It’s so funny to see him bound into the room and absolutely steal the show every time! Blueberry is a crowd favorite and he would be a perfect addition to any trip to a local brewery or coffee shop. He just wants to come along for the adventure and attractions, as long as he can do it with you! Come and get your berry best boy and adopt Blueberry Pie!  Pecan (M): Pecan is nuts about showing off his fabulous personality and love of life for his people! Pecan is always ready to play and zoom around the house as he wrestles his brothers. He loves attention and has been known to sprawl on top of his siblings dramatically when he thinks he needs more love. He’s a true character that makes everyone laugh endlessly at his silly antics and goofs. Pecan, like any good puppy, is ready for snuggles after a day of playing in the house and he will happily curl up in your arms for a movie or a tv show. This little man wins hearts wherever he goes with his adorable face and unique markings. We can see Pecan being the perfect addition to an active home looking for an adventure companion, whether on a hike or a trip to the farmer’s market! If you’re ready to pick out a pie, we pe-can’t think of a better puppy than Pecan Pie!  Pumpkin (F): Pumpkin is an adorable and sweet little lady ready to become a family favorite fall flavor! She may be the only girl of the bunch but she doesn’t let her brothers push her around. Pumpkin sets the daily agenda and romps around the house as she smiles with a tail wagging a mile a minute. She will play play play with other dogs but as soon as she’s ready for a break, she’s ready for some snuggles! Pumpkin’s favorite cuddle spot is on your lap with her nose pressed into the crook of your arm as she snoozes the hours away. Pumpkin has a unique look compared to her siblings and her red coat makes her stand out in a crowd. She loves posing for photos and is always ready with a kiss or a smile for her people! Pumpkin would be a fabulous addition for a neighborhood romp or a trip to the park. She’s an all-terrain kinda girl. If you’re ready for the start of feasting season, come and grab our limited-time Pumpkin Pie!      The Pie Puppies wake up at 7 AM and immediately gear up for a day of cuddles and kisses. They scamper around the pen as their breakfast is prepared before digging in. After they finish eating, they get their paws cleaned as their pen is cleaned out from overnight activities. During the day, the puppies cycle between sleeping, playing, exploring, and getting tons of cuddles from their foster mom. They are an absolute blast to watch zoom around on their short little legs. They have lunch at 1 and dinner at 5 PM. In the evening, they play around in the living room until they tire themselves out and fall asleep for the night. The puppies have grown up in a home with other dogs and have been very well socialized with pets of all ages and sizes. They love meeting new people and are fabulous canine ambassadors. Interested homes should be prepared to discuss plans for continued training and socialization to ensure the puppies are well-rounded adult dogs. We can’t wait to see how these puppies change the world around them for the better as they are just so amazing. Come grab a sweet treat and adopt a Pie today!      The Pie puppies are only an option for homes who have owned a dog in the last 5 years. Kids should be over the age of 7.November 2, 2024, 6:03 pm

Mama Pie was rescued from a hoarding situation and we quickly discovered she was very pregnant. Within a week of joining our rescue, she gave birth to four beautiful babies. Now that her babies are ready to find homes of their very own, we can’t wait to send Mama Pie off on her next adventure. This girl is so amazing and she has a fabulous permanent smile due to some missing teeth. Nothing to worry about, it just means she’s always ready for Tongue Out Tuesday! If you’re excited for pie season, come to the DPS bakery and adopt Mama Pie!      Pie is a sweet and loving gal with a gentle disposition and a heart of pure gold. She was very shut down and scared during her first few days but she slowly opened up and accepted pets. After two days, she showed us her cuddly personality and was eager to get all the love her foster people had for her. We promised that her forever home would be in for the best dog ever! Pie loves to follow her foster mom around the house, always on the hunt for cuddles and love. She is energetic but more in a people-centric way. She hasn’t quite figured out the whole “toy” thing yet. Pie’s dream is a home where somebody can give her tons of love and snuggles. She just wants to be part of the action and spend her days loving you. Pie is also super smart and food motivated, which makes her so fun to train. She’s also got such a goofy little smile with her tongue permanently hanging out of her mouth. She draws eyes and compliments wherever she goes! This sweet girl is the perfect addition to any household window sill, we promise!  Mama Pie wakes up around 7 AM and heads outside into the yard to start her day. Once she comes inside, she heads to her bowl and enjoys breakfast along with a treat. During the day, she tends to relax near her foster mom as she goes about her workday. She has access to the outdoors so she frequently goes out for some sunbathing and sniffing. She eats a snack around lunchtime and has dinner at 6 PM. She gets a short walk in the evening and then gets lots of snuggles and pets on the couch as she unwinds from her day. After one last potty trip outside, Mama Pie heads to her crate for the night.  Mama Pie gets along well with other dogs and draws confidence from well-rounded other dogs. She would be a fit for a home with current pets or as a solo dog. Pie is still learning how to “dog” but is house trained. Interested homes should be prepared to continue her training and socialization to build her confidence. Pie has been meeting more people every day and wins everyone over with her silly little smile. If you’re ready for the sweetest addition to your home, come scoop our Pie off the shelf today!      Mama Pie is an option for those with prior dog experience, even if the experience is dog sitting or family dogs. Kids should be over the age of 9.November 2, 2024, 6:03 pm

If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $600   Dipper is a 5 year old Norfolk Terrier mix who can’t wait to shine in his forever home! Dipper was rescued from a hoarding situation with several of his celestial pals. We stepped in to help our local shelter and brought him into our rescue for some much needed TLC and snuggles. Despite a rough start to his life, this little man is ready to find his people that he’s been wishing on every shooting star for! Dipper weighs 20 pounds and has an adorable little snaggletooth that gives him a permanent smirk. What a looker! If you’re ready to add a shining star to your home, adopt little Dipper!      Dipper is a loving and low-key gentleman looking for his shooting star. He is shy but acclimates quickly to his people once he knows you are ready to love him. He is curious and comfortable wandering around and exploring his home and yard once he starts getting used to his surroundings. He is starting to figure out that cuddle time is an amazing part of the day and with time we know he will be all up in your lap for hours at a time. Dipper would be an amazing WFH buddy as he is content to lounge on his bed for hours at a time. Dipper is the kind of dog who will be a loving but lowkey presence in his forever home. He’s not going to run marathons but he is excited to explore the world with you. We know that this handsome boy has so much to offer the world and with time, he will be an ambassador for love and affection.   Dipper wakes up between 7-9 AM depending on the day. This dude is happy to sleep in if you want! He goes right out into the yard for potty and exploration before zooming back in for breakfast. He snoozes off and on for most of the morning, occasionally taking breaks to sniff in the yard. Dipper gets a walk in the afternoon and loves checking out all the sights of the neighborhood. He has dinner around 5 PM followed by some playtime in the yard. Once he’s tired himself out, he hops up on the couch for some snuggles as he unwinds from the day. After one last potty trip outside, Dipper curls up on his dog bed and dreams the night away! Dipper enjoys the finer snacks and treats in life and would love being showered in shredded chicken in his forever home.  Dipper has lived with dogs for his entire life and would be a fabulous companion dog in his forever home. He is respectful towards the cat in his foster home. He would benefit from additional leash training but he enjoys his neighborhood and park walks. Due to his shyness, he would prefer an adult only home, or at least a quieter home with teens. Dipper is potty trained and crate trained. If you’re ready to wish upon a star and find true love, come and meet little Dipper!      Dipper is only an option for homes who have prior dog ownership experience. Kids in the home should be over 16. November 2, 2024, 6:03 pm
