Story
Meet Fletcher Fletcher is about 3 years old, weighs 15 pounds and is a happy, playful pup! He is very sweet, friendly, loving and as you can see in the video, enjoys exploring, running around the yard and playing. He was rescued from a shelter near the border of Mexico. We can see Fletcher doing well in a home where he can get lots of attention and playtime with his active family. He is curious and also enjoys being held. He has a fun personality and in true terrier fashion, he is very smart. He enjoys playing in the yard, so he will need a home that has a place for him to run. He is just a fun-loving pup who can’t wait to find a home of his own! He would be a wonderful, loyal companion to grow up in just about any family environment. Fletcher tested positive for heartworms and has been treated. Fletcher is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas and is available for transport to Columbus, OH on April 26th. He is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and his adoption fee is $450. The fee includes the transport cost. Adopting a Norfolk Terrier

Frequently asked questions about acquiring an Norfolk Terrier - the pros and cons of adopting versus going through a breeder, and associated costs.

You can adopt a Norfolk Terrier at a much lower cost than buying one from a breeder. The cost of adopting a Norfolk Terrier is typically $50 to $300, which helps cover the expenses of caring for your new canine BFF before adoption. This adoption fee often covers an initial exam, vaccines, microchipping, spay/neuter, and preventatives.

In contrast, buying a Norfolk Terrier from a breeder can be prohibitively expensive. Depending on their breeding, they can cost $1,500 to $4,000.

The easiest way to adopt a Norfolk Terrier is through a rescue that specializes in Norfolk Terriers, a small-breed dog rescue, or a shelter. A great place to start is with a breed search on Adopt a Pet, which will show you all the available Norfolk Terriers in your search radius.

Norfolk Terrier fun facts

Fun Facts:

Norfolk and Norwich Terriers are the smallest of the working terriers.

The Norwich and the Norfolk Terrier have essentially the same physical characteristics except for one main difference: the Norwich Terrier boasts erect ears, and the Norfolk Terrier boasts dropped ears.

Charles "Doggy" Lawrence is to thank for introducing the Norfolk Terrier to the world. He crossed Yorkshire Terriers and Irish Terriers and sold the result to Cambridge University students who wanted companions and help with the rats in their dorm rooms.
