Story
Pad foot has lived with us for 5 years and we will miss her! She is about nine years old. We are her third home. The first time she was rehomed it was because owners had twins and they were overwhelmed. The second time, was during COVID and owners were a young family with a toddler and baby on the way. Dad was working in healthcare during COVID which was stressful for them all. Our time with her has been sweet. We are now retired. We are moving out of state to a much smaller home. Padfoot is a happy enthusiastic dog and I think she wishes we were younger and more playful and active with her. We think she does best with a quiet small family with older kids or no kids. She is housebroken she likes walks. She has received regular veterinary care. Vets office says they are all very happy to see her. They say she is a good girl and she is always on her best behavior when she is there. She is a really good companion.

Joe is a Chocolate Lab mix with what I expect is Pitbull. I purchased him from a family on Craigslist when he was around 6 weeks old. He is both one of the most loving dogs I have ever met and also one of the most energetic. He follows you around the house all day and will rarely leave your side. Given the opportunity, will always snuggle in bed or on the couch. His energy levels, even at 4 and 1/2 years old, are still rather high. He is extremely rambunctious when seeing people come home or visitors arrive until he has had some time to be let out side to work through his excitement. This excitement translates to other dogs and is extremely excited to make new friends. However, he can be quite overwhelming for other dogs, since he was never taught he to play while respecting boundaries. While I love Joe endlessly, I am looking to move across the country to explore a new career in the following years. I also know he is much better suited for someone who can provide the love he deserves

Story
Phyllis and her brother Steve need a home that is better equipped for them than we are. They were rescued from a puppy mill and are incredibly sweet. They are great with our kids and love to be around people. However, they are sometimes fearful of men, which has created issues when my husband is caring for them on his own, and I am working full-time and have health issues that are making caring for them more difficult. They are housetrained, but the female submissive pees with my husband (she doesn't do it with me or our children). The male will occasionally submissive pee with my husband, but not too often. They both know how to sit. The boy knows how to shake and lay down. They are spayed and neutered, and their vaccines are up to date. They will be great additions to a family better equipped to care for them. We will consider rehoming them together or placing them in different homes. They are OK with our cats, but they try to play with them, which annoys our cats.
