Story
Churro is an absolute sweetheart when he warms up to you. He is fearful of new people and dogs and will bark at them. He is crate-trained and house-trained. He is tolerant of dogs he has been able to sniff and they give him space. He has cohabitated well with my female dog and plays with her, but is very reactive with other dogs and people. I adopted him from the SPCA and he has been with me for 3 months. I have been training him with a clicker and he is very food motivated. He has experienced trauma in his life and I think this is what the reactivity is due to. I live in an apartment complex with many other dogs here, so it is very difficult to avoid triggers. I believe he would do much better if he lived in a house with a backyard or a less dog-populated apartment complex. It breaks my heart to even have to post this. I love him so much but it is a constant source of stress/fear for me. People in my apartment complex have complained about his barking and I will have a new roommate

Story
We adopted Willow a few years ago from our local shelter, so we do not know what breed she is or how old she is. Before coming to us, she was abused by her previous owner and had a spinal injury. She has occasional seizures, which medication does not seem to help, so she lives with them and they seem to have little impact on her life. She has somewhat poor mobility, but can handle stairs and low furniture (couches) just fine. She is house trained (leash and doggy door), but occasionally chooses to pee in the house after we have been gone on trips without her (a day or 2 after we return). She is great with all ages of kids, but is very protective of her humans and does not thrive with other dogs (not aggressive, just growls and snaps). She is a very lazy, sweet, and cuddly girl who just isn’t getting the time and attention she deserves.

Story
Henry is a 10 month old Dachshund/Chihuahua/unknown other mix rescue. Currently weighs 28lbs. He is house trained and knows basic commands (sit, down, stay, place). He is happiest having his one person that he can bond with, follow around, and sleep near. He loves other dogs, especially ones that are bigger than him and is happiest when getting to play and rough house with them all day at doggie day care. At about 6 months he became less tolerable of young children and more reactive to them. Outside of the home he does well with groomers and his doggie day care handlers. He walks well on a leash (harness) and is only distracted by joggers or squirrels that run in front of him. He also does well in the car. I think Henry would benefit from a quieter home (no young children) and one that has at least one other dog that he can play with to expend his energy.

Story
Mabel is a very sweet goofball of a pup. She is 1 year old, enjoys playing fetch, and relaxing outside. She is a little aloof around people but loves to be in the same space as her humans. She has lots of energy and learns very fast. We were able to crate train and house train within a month. She's very food motivated and learns commands well. Mabel was adopted from a local rescue when she was around 6 months old. She seemed to acclimate to our home well over the first few months but over time, she became more aggressive towards our older dog. She has turned into a bit of a bully with him and tries to prevent him from getting attention. She also plays too rough with our 5-yr-old son to the point we have to keep them separated. Through our efforts to correct her behavior issues we've come to realize Mabel has a lot of anxiety. The things causing her stress are things in our environment we cannot change. We believe Mabel would do best in a home with no small children or small dogs.
