Story
Leaf is a 2-year-old Pit Bull mix we’ve been fostering through the Humane Rescue Alliance in Washington, DC. He’s a sweet, loyal, and intelligent dog with a big heart. While he’s fearful around new people (especially men) and some dogs, he warms up within a few days and becomes incredibly affectionate. We’re looking for a patient and loving home where Leaf can continue to grow. He thrives in a calm environment with people who can help him work through his anxieties. He loves car rides and makes a great travel companion. Though Leaf has challenges like separation anxiety and occasional reactivity, his potential to flourish with the right family is immense. With love and attention, he will make an amazing companion.

Story
Bonded Pair - Must Adopt Both Together! Jax (6) and Koda (4) are both rescues and have been living together for around 5yrs. We adopted Jax as a puppy and he has been with us since he was 9 weeks old. We adopted Koda in 2020 as a companion for Jax; he was around 6mos old when we adopted him. They are both amazing, loving dogs that we are very reluctant to give up. However, we recently welcomed our daughter to the family and both had promotions at work, so we unfortunately no longer have the requisite time available to give them the amount of attention they deserve. Jax and Koda will thrive in a home that has a fenced backyard to play in. They would be great for a family with grown children that can run around with them. Our daughter is now 16mos and there have been no real problems other than some chewed toys and missing snacks, so they would do well with small children as well, but would likely enjoy the company and energy of bigger kids that can play with them.

Story
Toby is a sweet, gentle and loving dog! He loves to be pet and cuddled. He is either napping on his bed or looking for animals out the window to protect us from. He is a very easy dog. Eats, sleeps and loves a good walk outside. We found him about 8 years ago in Colorado where we tried to find his original owners. We suspect that he was abused because he can be very skittish with certain situations. He also gets scared during storms and likes to hide in the bathroom. We are looking to rehome him because he is starting to become unpredictable around our rambunctious toddler and with a new baby in the home as well, we don’t want to risk anything happening, although has never shown aggression towards us. We also just can not give him the care and attention he deserves currently.
