Story
Meet Leah 💕 A 7-year-old 40 lb. brown-eyed sweetie that I am fostering for an amazing rescue called AmsterDog that rescues dogs that are on the kill list. Leah is my current foster. Leah's previous family moved but not before surrendering her to the city shelter. Due to lack of space at the shelter, Leah ended up on the kill list. I have 3 dogs, and she gets along with them. She is also kid and cat friendly. She loves cuddles, treats, walks. She is house broken and medium energy. Leah's Fun Fact: Her left ear permanently points up and her right one permanently points down 😆 If you are interested in adopting her, please contact me.

Story
Sophie is the best dog I have ever met. Sophie is well behaved, and so so sweet. She gets along with other dogs, and she has lived with both cats and birds without incident. When she is comfortable at home, she likes to sleep, as you can see, and her favorite activity is sitting outside in the sun, chewing on a stick. She has wonderful manners, and I have no complaints. She gets very excited around new people and dogs, but once she gets used to you, she is the most chill dog who spends most of her day resting. She is absolutely perfect off leash. She has been nipped by other dogs a few times at dog parks (not badly! she got excited and kept barking at them and they got mad haha), and she didn't even respond at all, just kept wagging her tail. Everyone who meets her loves her so much. She thinks she is a lap dog, but she is 60 pounds. She likes to sleep under a blankie. She can be left out alone while you go to work and she wont bother a thing, and shes never had an accident inside.

Story
Mamacita's basic bio is below, but we maintain more detailed information about each of our animals on our website, which is also always up to date with animals removed immediately once they are adopted. Please visit Mamacita's page on our site (https://www.muddypawsrescue.org/adoptable?dog=005846) to learn even more about Mamacita! Additionally, please note that the breed listed for Mamacita is just our best guess based on the dog's physical features. We cannot make any guarantees about the accuracy of our guesses. PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO VOLUME, WE ARE GENERALLY UNABLE TO RESPOND TO INQUIRIES MADE USING THE 'ASK ABOUT ME' BUTTON. Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org. Mamacita is a perfect land manatee that reminds everyone that it is OK to not be in a hurry. She loves being out in the world, so much so that she will bark into the air to say "hello world!" as she is walking down the sidewalk. She loves meeting everyone, including people, kids, dogs, cats, and will even walk up to pigeons to find out what they are doing. She has a hop in her step when we are heading out for walks, but will slow down tremendously when it looks like we are headed in the direction of home, and will sometimes stall by making friends with people at outdoor cafés. Mamacita is a whole different dog from when we first took her in, and is so very happy all the time. She takes medicine for her Addison's Disease (which will be fully covered by a grant) and monthly arthritis medication, so she is thriving and taking it all in stride. The best news? -- 15/10 Foundation is now sponsoring Mama and will cover the costs of the medication for her Addison's Disease for whoever adopts her! Mama is still not very interested in wrestling with her foster sister, but she is a pro at unstuffing a stuffy. She initially appeared to be deaf, or very, very hard of hearing, but that makes life in a chaotic city pretty easy. However, she is now starting to respond to noises as her health has improved, so that might be remediated at some point. She knows basic commands given to her visually, is always looking at you to follow your cues, and always waits patiently for food and treats, even if others are getting them first. While she is super excited for mealtimes, she will sit and wait until given the ok to dig in. She prefers to be surrounded by people and other pets even if she's just laying down while chaos ensues.

It is impossible to know her and not to fall deeply in love with her. She knows many commands, such as sit, stay, paw, turn, and come. She has an amazing vocabulary too. Her favorite word is "treat." Nova adores people. If she thinks someone is going to leave her, she will run to the door and try to block their egress. However, she is more than capable of entertaining herself. She is happy to sleep on her own bed or in her crate. However, if you give her the okay, she will gladly jump on the couch and be your weighted blanket. She is a big puppy who plays throughout the day. She likes puzzle toys, playing tug of war, and throwing stuffed animals in the air. Nova is joy to be around. I feel lucky to have her as my foster dog. She truly brings me joy every single day.
