Story
Its with a heavy heart that Im looking to rehome my 4yo male dog. Hes a truly lovable companion who thrives on affection and cuddles, and he absolutely adores being around people. Hes housebroken, well-behaved indoors, and will always let you know when he needs to go outside. While he does shed, its very manageable with regular brushing. That said, he does have some challenges that require a special kind of home. He has a strong prey drive and reactive tendencies toward other dogs, which means he would do best as the only pet in the home. He needs someone experienced or willing to put in the time and patience to work through his reactivity with consistent training and structured outlets for his energy. Hes not a bad dog; far from it. Hes sweet, loyal, and just wants to be loved. But he needs the right environment to truly thrive: a calm, consistent home with no other animals and someone who can help guide him through his triggers with compassion and commitment.

Billie came from some tough beginnings, but she is as sweet as they come. Just look at her soulful eyes - she will love you with her whole heart and be your best friend forever. Though it took a few days, she is now fully potty trained! Billie is a certified genius and so eager to learn - already mastering sit, down, paw, stay, place, and leave it. She adores her foster brother Kevin, (45lb male dog). She can be a little nervous meeting new people and being in new places at first, but once she opens up and learns to trust you she will be your best cuddle-buddy. Please consider making this perfect girl your next family member!

It is impossible to know her and not to fall deeply in love with her. She knows many commands, such as sit, stay, paw, turn, and come. She has an amazing vocabulary too. Her favorite word is "treat." Nova adores people. If she thinks someone is going to leave her, she will run to the door and try to block their egress. However, she is more than capable of entertaining herself. She is happy to sleep on her own bed or in her crate. However, if you give her the okay, she will gladly jump on the couch and be your weighted blanket. She is a big puppy who plays throughout the day. She likes puzzle toys, playing tug of war, and throwing stuffed animals in the air. Nova is joy to be around. I feel lucky to have her as my foster dog. She truly brings me joy every single day.

She’s an easygoing pup who loves nothing more than snoozing on the couch or a trip to the park, but when she’s feeling playful, her zoomies are legendary. She’s extremely gentle with people and dogs and warms up quickly to everyone she meets. She often gets stopped on the street because she’s so gorgeous! Olivia was nervous in NYC at first, but she has made great strides adjusting to city life! We used to have to pull her along on walks, but now she leads the way :) We’re still working on potty training and going down stairs, but once she figures those things out, she'll be the perfect addition to any family. She is one of the most loving, docile dogs I've ever met! Be prepared to fall in love—she has brought us so much joy in just these few days!

Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org. Looking for a sleepy, snuggly senior? Meet Grandpa Lazzi. All this sweet, 12,5-year-old gentleman wants is a safe place to land, a lap to lay his head, and a couch to fart on. His old heart is full of love and loyalty, and he’ll always wants to be by your side—whether it’s for a nap or, well, more naps.  Lazzi is a unique soul who has a few special needs. He’s mostly deaf; but on the plus side, he won't hear your neighbor's poorly behaved dog constantly barking next door, and the hustle&bustle on NYC streets leaves him unfazed. He’s also got some wobbly legs and arthritis and bumps into walls, corners, curbs if he has a weaker moment. He is currently taking two medications twice a day for arthritic pain and anxiety, and his mobility tends to regress as the day goes on. Due to this, he currently takes one walk to the park a day in the morning—which he loves and he will practically gallop on the way! Lazzi does show dog reactivity on his walks, barking and pulling at any passing dogs. (A strong arm and treats to distract are needed.) Being an old guy, he does need frequent pee breaks but is more than content using his foster parents' small outdoor space for his comfort or a little corner across the street. He often has ear infections, his ears need to be closely watched, cleaned daily with a dog ear cleaner and he has medication for them, too. If necessary to leave him by himself for a bit, indoors, he knows how to use a wee wee pad! A ground floor apartment or elevator building is necessary for his comfort, as is a single-dog home.  After his morning romp, Lazzi's ideal day consists of sleeping, snuggles, and absent-mindedly licking the bare legs of his loved ones. He’s a sweet, lazy boy who loves nothing more than lounging on the couch next to you, making adorable old man grumbles and doing wide paw sploots wherever he wants to rest. When his eyes are open he won't let you out of his sight, following you from room to room. At night, he likes to pull his bed closer to yours, never wanting to be too far. Lazzi is very food motivated (but shows no food aggression) and will do anything for a Whimzee or carrot. (He loves carrots!) He is currently on a prescription diet to help manage his senior dog needs.  If you’re looking for a lazy, loving companion who will make you laugh and melt your heart with his old man quirks, Lazzi is your guy. After being found outside an abandoned home, taken in by the NYCACC, and now being fostered through Muddy Paws, this old man is ready for a peaceful, loving home where he can spend his golden years in comfort and the security of knowing he won't be left behind.

She is highly food motivated! She can be lured with treats and has been learning new commands fairly quickly. Darlin’ has her own funny personality - she loves to pounce on her plush toys, climb on you like a lap dog, and roll off the couch. She has been doing great on our walks- going to the dog park meeting new dogs and people and making tons of friends! She really is a cuddle bug, who just wants to curl up next to you on the couch with a soft blanket and snooze all day. She enjoys going outside and has been getting more adventurous and exploring the neighborhood. I find when she accompanies my dog on walks, she is a bit braver.
