Story
Phoebe is the sweetest, most friendly dog you'll ever meet. She will be 5 years old in May and is up to date on all her shots. She's some sort of terrier mix with basenji, we only got a partial dna test result. We love her so much but had to move from a house with a yard to an apartment last year. I have multiple sclerosis and it is getting harder and harder for me to walk her. She likes to go out often and I physically can't keep up with her. My daughter is autistic and can't handle walking her, and my son is in college and isn't home most of the time. I can continue walking her until we can find her the right home but its not sustainable for me. This is a terribly difficult decision to make and is heart breaking for me, but she needs to be in a home with a yard, or with someone willing and able to walk her. She's really such a good, sweet girl and I hate having to do this.

Mamacita's basic bio is below, but we maintain more detailed information about each of our animals on our website, which is also always up to date with animals removed immediately once they are adopted. Please visit Mamacita's page on our site (https://www.muddypawsrescue.org/adoptable?dog=005846) to learn even more about Mamacita! Additionally, please note that the breed listed for Mamacita is just our best guess based on the dog's physical features. We cannot make any guarantees about the accuracy of our guesses. PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO VOLUME, WE ARE GENERALLY UNABLE TO RESPOND TO INQUIRIES MADE USING THE 'ASK ABOUT ME' BUTTON. Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org. Mamacita is a perfect land manatee that reminds everyone that it is OK to not be in a hurry. She loves being out in the world, so much so that she will bark into the air to say "hello world!" as she is walking down the sidewalk. She loves meeting everyone, including people, kids, dogs, cats, and will even walk up to pigeons to find out what they are eating. She has a hop in her step when we are heading out for walks, but will slow down tremendously when it looks like we are headed in the direction of home, and will sometimes stall by making friends with people at outdoor cafés. She is a whole different dog from when we first took her in, and is so very happy all the time. She takes daily medicine for her Cushing's and Addison's, and monthly arthritis medication, so she is thriving. It is a delicate balance between the 2 main conditions, but she takes it all in stride. Mama is still not very interested in toys or wrestling with her foster sister, but she is a pro at unstuffing a stuffy. She might be deaf, or very, very hard of hearing, but that makes life in a chaotic city pretty easy. She knows basic commands given to her visually, and always waits patiently for food and treats, even if others are getting them first. She prefers to be surrounded by people and other pets even if she's just laying down while chaos ensues.

Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org. Just call me super Nova!! Hi, I'm your favorite new pocket-sized cuddle bug! Please may I sit in your lap? That is my absolute favorite!! I'm a happy, energetic girl who loves a good session of zoomies and tug, and also enjoys snoozing for hours. I have a whole lot of ears, cuddles, kisses, and love to go around. I like to play with toys in the afternoon (my bagel stuffie and Nylabone are my current favorites) and my puzzle bowl at meal time — yep, I'm a curious pup! My foster mom tells me I'm very smart — I figure out new puzzle toys in no time. I know "sit," "stay," "down," "paw," "come" and "spin"! Now I'm learning "leave it" and "through the legs" for a fun one! I also know "place" to go in my crate, and that I need to sit quietly in my crate while my meals are being prepared. I get so excited about food! Food is the best! I can be a bit cautious outside at first, since there's so much to take in on my neighborhood walks. But I've been making great progress on my dislike for bicycles, scooters, and skateboards. My foster mom says she's proud of me because I rarely react to bicycles anymore! And as long as they don't move too fast, I love meeting new people on walks!! I sleep through the night like a champ, and I don't usually mind being left alone. Sometimes I cry or bark for the first few minutes, but if you give me a Kong with some peanut butter or treats, I am happy to be distracted. I would love to find a comfy and calm forever home where I can keep working on my training and giving ALL of the cuddles!!

Puddin was claimed by the staff at ASPCA as a staff favorite due to her sweet and loving nature, and it is very clear why. It’s impossible to resist her sweet soul, affectionate gaze and expressive bunny ears. After everything she’s been through she remains a trusting and happy girl. We’ve had the pleasure of fostering Puddin for four months. In that time we’ve seen her make great progress and integrate into our routine and lifestyle.

We call him “Easy Otis” - he’s fully house and crate trained, is a great listener, and likes to snuggle up to his people at the end of the day. He likes affection but is also content to lay on his bed and play with his bone. Otis is currently recovering from torn ligament surgery, but is making great progress healing up and is looking for a soft place to land as he starts to slowly return to normal activities.
