Story
This is bubba! He turned 7 this past August. He’s a big cuddle bug and thinks he’s a lap dog despite his big ol’ body. We rescued bubba when he was almost a year old from a family up north. Bubba is house trained, crate trained (to a point) and knows plenty of commands! I work full time and have three daughters all in school and extracurricular activities. My husband is now traveling for work and only home about three days out of a month. We crate bubba when we leave because we are gone 7-10 hours a day without anyone to be home with him. Bubba needs a home where he won’t be left alone that long, somewhere with children that he can play with, he LOVES kids.

Story
Luca was abandoned at a gas station around thanksgiving of last year. she was then brought to our house unannounced, so we agreed to house her until we could find a shelter or organization that could take her. we ended up keeping her, but the timing she came into my life wasn't conducive for good behavioral development. because of this, i feel she deserves someone who is able to put the time and energy into training her, as she has such a sweet personality and is very easy to love. our house also is not a good fit, as there are many old, fragile, valuable things that my senior housemate has acquired over his life, and she doesn't have room to be her fun but clumsy and curious self safely. she loves to play, and is usually able to stay on my best friends senior dogs level, though doesn't fully understand when he needs a break. overall, she is a great dog, and with the right person she has tons of potential.

Story
I adopted Doc 5 months ago from I heart dogs shelter. He was a surrender. Hes a very sweet 3 year old boy. He is reactive to people and dogs. Very energized guy, would need a decent sized yard (preferably with private fencing) He does bark and lunge when people and dogs walk by the fence. I've kept him on a lead in the yard otherwise I fear him hopping the fence. He just needs someone who has the time and patience to train him. My Mother has fell ill recently and I unfortunately don't have the time. He doesn't get along very well with my cats, the lady before me told me he did so maybe it was just mine. He's a good boy, I want whats best for him.

Story
Crazy where life takes you. I'm Juniper by the way. My journey began when I was left and tied up overnight at a doggie daycare. A man with the best intentions took me in and took me to his home. The problem was he worked long hours. He tried to make arrangements and do the right thing. The human that took care of me in his absence was elderly and also had some health issues. I was a lot, challenging to anyone not prepared for full grown dog that still acts like a puppy. I understand why they surrendered me, although I don't believe they wanted to. That's how I got here, at the Madison Heights Animal Shelter. I'm learning lots of new things here, like not pulling on my lead and not jumping up on people, but sometimes, I can't help myself. I make everyone laugh with my crazy zoomies. I even and try to be a lap dog even though I'm like 30 lbs. So, what do you think? I available if you are willing. Please adopt me so we can take the next step in this adventurous life together.

Story
Hi. My name is Lily and am an eight-year-old mixed breed female dog. My loving owner who rescued me recently passed away, so I am looking for a new person to share cuddles with. I am used to living in a one/two-person home with no children or other animals and don’t need a large yard to be happy. I have a mellow personality and just want to love and be loved. I like walks and playing with my toys, along with napping in my bed and snuggling with my person on the couch. I can’t wait to meet my next best friend!

Story
Arlo is a rescue dog who has been with his current owner for a year. He is very curious, very energetic and loves to smell feet) Arlo is house trained and knows basic commands like sit, stay, paw, hand, and my favorite “bath time.” Arlo is overall a great dog. The current owner is unable to keep him due to their busy schedule.
