Story
Dallas is a sweet 8 mo old mixer breed who came to canine collective with his look alike slightly larger brother Dug and sister Daisy Duke. With a beautiful brindle coat and white chest we think he may be part mountain cur or plott hound, but who knows? He is more slender than his sibs so we th8nk he is currently about 35ish lbs. This good boy is good with other dogs, loves toys, and seems to be potty trained. He is a little shy when separated from his sibs, but soon realizes he gets more love! Check out the video in his profile where you see Dallas with his sibs. They are enjoying all the attention and did well for their first photo shoot! If you're intrigued, apply at www.caninecollective.org.

Story
Rascal’s story is unusual but deserves to be told. He was surrendered to us after a fight broke out between the dogs in the home and Rascal was thought to be the instigator. His owner was panicking and wasn’t sure what to do because there was a child in the home and they wanted to be proactive. The humane society had a surrender waitlist, which was not an option, so they decided to surrender Rascal to the pound, knowing he would have to be labeled as “aggressive”, and euthanized, per protocol. However, Rascal has been tested time and time again with other dogs, strangers, volunteers, and anyone else who will give him the time of day and he has not shown any aggression, so he has been given the green light to be adopted. Rascal is playful and goofy and loves to be right by your side. He is obsessed with one of our volunteers and has shown that he forms very strong bonds with be people he loves. Upon meeting Rascal you’ll notice he makes an absurd amount of noise - grunting, snarling, huffing and puffing, but we truly think he’s just a quirky dog!

Story
Dixie is a 50 lb mixed breed.  Best guess is that she is a Mt. Cur mix. She is sweet and playful.  She loves people and seems to be fine around other dogs.  We do not know how she is with cats or children.   She is highly energetic and will require a home that is willing to provide her plenty of exercise. Anyone interested her must stop in to meet here and complete an application to be considered.   10/15/2024---Dixie is now enrolled in our prison program for training.  Anyone interested in her must schedule an appointment to meet her (she will stay at the prison until she is adopted.....she is NOT at the shelter) Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt. Gilead, OH. 419-946-1747October 15, 2024, 4:28 pm

Story
Luke is 4 years old. He's good with female dogs. Luke has a dominance issue, so hes not too good with male dogs. He can also be food aggressive at times. His aggression is more of a scared aggression but I don't know what his triggers are. It makes it hard for me to give him what he needs. He hasn't been around kids. I'm pregnant and I have 3 other dogs. He has become too overprotective of me. My husband cant approach me without causing an issue with luke. Its gotten worse since i became pregnant. Im rehoming Luke because I don't think he will take a child being in the house in a positive way. He loves the outdoors, walks, Frisbee, etc. He is a natural working dog. Has alot of energy. He is very smart. Has a great call back. He's good on and off leash.
