Story
Meet Jaeger, an almost 4-year-old Mountain Cur mix who is eagerly searching for a loving forever home. Jaeger's life began as an outside dog, surrendered to us due to no fault of his own. His previous family had to move and felt that he wouldn't be happy in their new home. Jaeger has been waiting for a long time in search of his forever family, as he originally came to our shelter in summer of 2020. It does take a little work to win him over, but once you do, he will certainly be your buddy for life! Once he establishes a connection with his human, he will go above and beyond to show his unwavering devotion. In his time with us, Jaeger has graduated the Puppies for Parole program through our partnering correctional center. From his handler we learned Jaeger is very intelligent, easily trained, and highly food motivated. Through his opportunity with P4P, he has been house trained, crate trained, taught basic obedience, and started on home manners! We also learned from his handler that when it comes to favorite pastimes, cuddle sessions take the top spot for Jaeger. He has certainly come a long way from being someone's forgotten farm dog! Here at the shelter, Jaeger goes out in a playgroup with other dogs, but it should be noted that he is the dominant one. By providing him with a loving home, you will witness the transformation of a wary dog into a devoted and affectionate family member. Story
Say hello to Jorah! We guess him to be a Mountain Cur or Plott Hound mix, who is nearly 4 years old. He is another one of our Forget-Me-Nots. He was abandoned on farmland with his sister, so when the farmer was able to catch them both, they were brought to us. Both were in pretty rough shape, but with proper care their coats filled in nicely. It takes a bit of time for Jorah to trust strangers, but then, he loves everyone. He likes the company of other dogs! He seems more secure when he isn't the only one. In his time with us, Jorah has actually gotten really close with another long-timer, named Ray. They go out in play group together and do really well! Jorah was adopted once, but was returned when he couldn't handle being alone much of the time. He was described as too clingy. We think that if he had another dog around, he'd be happier. He really is a sweet guy and loves attention and affection. He just needs the opportunity to bond. Also, Jorah is very trainable and knows some commands. If you are interested in adopting Jorah, please stop for a visit! Primary Color: Brindle Secondary Color: Black Weight: 59 Age: 5yrs 6mths 2wks

Story
We adopted Rudy at the age of 2 months from a rescue called Operation Kindness. He is now 3 years old. He was born 3/26/2021. He loves bananas, playing fetch, jumping into water and as much attention as you can possibly give him. He is an amazing dog and rehoming him is definitely weighing heavily on our hearts. We are a growing family with a two year old. Rudy has growled at our baby but does not bite and is generally very patient. The medication he is on has caused an increase in his anxiety and aggression. We also believe the lack of exercise and time away from the house has also caused him to suffer. We feel it is in his best interest to find a family that is willing to devote more time than we are currently able to. A family with older children or a retiree that would love to throw a stick or ball around for him. He is very well trained, obedient and he loves to snuggle. Rudy is on daily meds for Epilepsy but also has a transferable insurance policy through Trupanion.

Story
Meet Gabby, a 2-year-old Plott Hound mix who is eagerly searching for a loving and understanding forever home. Gabby is an absolute sweetheart. This precious girl was originally found by animal control as a stray, so not much is known about her up until that point. However, we were all quickly won over by her loving nature. She is an incredibly affectionate girl, who craves attention and thrives on companionship. It should be noted that Gabby's journey has been marked by challenges, as she was born with a few birth defects: a slight deformity in her hind legs, limited vision on her right side, and some cognitive dysfunction. It's not that she is untrainable- she can absolutely learn new skills. It just takes her a bit longer to catch on. Gabby is partially housetrained and with a regular routine, we believe she can become fully housetrained. She gets along with most other dogs, but isn't fond of puppies jumping on her. That being said, her resilience and ability to adapt are truly remarkable. Despite these obstacles, Gabby has a desire to be loved and cared for. She needs a calm and structured home, where she can feel safe and secure. Gabby would thrive in a home where she is taken for walks and receives cuddles. Best of all is witnessing Gabby doing her zoomies in our play yard! Primary Color: Brindle Weight: 68 Age: 3yrs 0mths 2wks
