Story
All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, Heartworm tested (6 months and above) and current on vaccinations and preventions prior to adoption. At the time of adoption all dogs are signed up with a unique Safe Paws QR pet ID tag, the adopter is required to maintain a monthly membership of $2.99/month for (at minimum) the first year. This helps insure your new furry family member makes his way back to you if lost. Leashes and collars are also required at the time of adoption. You are welcome to bring your own, or we have plenty to choose from at the shelter as well. If the pet you fall in love with is not quite ready for adoption, we do offer a $50 hold deposit that will insure you have first "dibs" on adoption. Once an animal is available for adoption, we are not able to hold them, as there are so many animals waiting to come into our program. Midwest Animal ResQ offers a 30-day adjustment period within which you can evaluate the pet's progress and your adoption decision. If, within those 30 days, you determine your recently adopted pet isn't a good fit, you may return the animal and receive a MARQ credit that can be used toward the adoption of another animal. Our biggest priority is finding the very best match for you, and Completing Families one Tail at a Time! Our shelter is located at 10312 East 63rd Street in Raytown, MO. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays. You are welcome to fill out our quick 10 question adoption survey to facilitate a quicker process. This will also start the meeting process for those animals in foster. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/MARQ/Dog

Story
Meet our friend Andy from @Unleashed Pet Rescue and Adoption. This sweet, energetic guy has been waiting a while for his new home, but he knows the right person or people will see him and pick him soon. Read about Andy and then let us know if you'd like to meet him. Maybe you'll be the one to pick Andy. Let's start by telling you that Andy is funny and entertaining and loving and such a goof. He's an eight-year-old pointer mix who has plenty of pointer energy. He would love an adult-only home where there aren't a lot of people coming and going because new people can be scary. He would be fabulous in a home with patient people who adore him, and where he can go on lots of walks or runs and play ball outside -- his favorite game! An avid nature lover, Andy also likes to watch birds and squirrels. (He's really just a little nosey, so he'll happily keep an eye on the neighborhood for you, too. Remember Mrs. Kravitz from Bewitched?) Andy is also a very smart boy. He's already crate trained and house trained, knows basic commands, and is always up for learning more. Do you have other pets in your home? Andy could do well with another pet (including cats!), as long as he had a proper, slow introduction. And here's another cool thing about Andy -- he's currently in board and train with The Pet Connection and would continue with classes and support after adoption. The Pet Connection will also help you with introductions to your current pets. To learn more about Andy, please call or text us at 913-671-PETS (7387). Andy's staying in Beloit, Kansas, but transport is available to the right home. #thepetconnection #PointerMix #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #PetAdoption #DogLovers #KansasPets #ForeverHome
