Story
*Update* Taz has been spending his days in a supervisor office, and loves to nap his days away on a fluffy blanket, has shown no issues with sharing his space with the human occupants of the office, LOVES snuggle time with his favorite staff, and getting snacks. He can be reactive to some people walking by (no clear reason on who, and Taz hasn’t explained, and he does get sad if he is left alone and may bark.  Taz! At 7 years old, he found himself here after being in a couple different places. We do not know much about his history, but have spent months getting to know him and his quirks. The good: Taz loves his people and is social, laid back, and has the staff wrapped around his paw. He takes baths well and I have seen him toted around like a baby more than once - which he seems to eat up. The bad: Taz is barrier reactive. His name suits him in this setting - because behind a barrier he resembles a Tasmanian devil.  What we have learned is that if he knows you, life returns to peace. In his last home he had a minor bite to a leg of a person trying to close a door in front of him. It is possible that he also has some separation anxiety which is why he gets so upset when he is separated by a barrier. What Taz and his new family need: A quirky experienced dog owner. No kids (simply to avoid to possible conflict). He has been out with similar sized dogs and is social. Potential adopters will be shown how he behaves in all shelter related settings and we can go over some tips on how to best work with him in your home. We want Taz and his person to be successful- so understand that he wont be suitable for everyone.        Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 1, 2024, 7:50 am

Cuddle enthusiasts, rejoice! 🛋️ Minnie is a professional snuggler, ready to curl up with you for 20 hours a day. 💖 Whether you’re binge-watching your favorite shows 📺 or working from home 💻, Minnie will be right there, providing endless warmth and affection. Minnie is fantastic with other little dogs 🐶, she can not go a home with other dogs over 20lbs 🐕 If you have a small dog and are looking for a new friend, Minnie could be the perfect fit. 👫 She would do best in a home with someone with steady legs, as she loves to jump up and can sometimes be a bit hard on the back of your legs. 💪 ❤️ If you’re ready to welcome a pint-sized, loving, and adventurous companion into your life, Minnie is ready to go home with you. 🏡 Applications are required for a meet and greet to ensure Minnie finds her perfect match. 📝 Come meet this little bundle of joy and let her add some spice to your life! 🎉 children should be over 8 * yard must have a physical fenced area not a dog yard To clarify Coastal Sheltie Rescue's requirements: The space must be a permanent enclosed area, such as a patio or small yard, that is fully fenced and closed off from the outside. Temporary structures or gates will not be accepted. We are looking for a permanent structure that ensures the safety of the dog and provides a private area for them to go potty. If your home does not already have this type of fully enclosed space, we will not be able to approve your application. Please note that we do not accept applications based on promises of pending yard installations or temporary fixes.
