Story
Paisley is a 12 year old yorkie, she was given to me at age 4 by her previous owner who had baby twins. She’s a super sweet cuddly girl but she dislikes her crate and chews things up if left out home alone. I am now back working in an office everyday and she is so anxious at home in her crate. She’s getting older and cannot hold it all day and needs to wear a diaper when in her crate. No issues when I’m home with her and am able to take her out for a few walks a day. I just feel she’d be better in a home with someone who can be home with her most days. I want her to go to a loving home with someone who can be with her most days.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Dodger's adoption donation is $500 and he is being fostered in Central Ohio. He’s been fully vetted, including neuter, microchip, all core vaccinations (rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, Bordetella), heartworm negative and on prevention, flea prevention, and even a dental cleaning—he's sparkling from the inside out! Meet Dodger – Your New Best Friend! Dodger is a bright-eyed, affectionate little guy who's ready to steal your heart and maybe even your spot on the couch. This sweet pup came to rescue after his former owner could no longer care for him, and while his journey has had a few twists and turns, Dodger has never lost his zest for life—or his love for cuddles! Dodger thrives on companionship. He adores being near his person and gives the sweetest kisses you’ll ever receive. He also enjoys playtime with other dogs and would love a playful pup friend around his size and energy level to share adventures—and maybe a toy or two. That said, he’s also totally fine taking some quiet time to himself to recharge. He’s making great progress with potty training when kept on a schedule, and he's learning that meals don’t have to be rushed—a lesson he’s taking to heart with the help of a loving foster home. Dodger is leash and crate trained, does well in the car, and is the perfect combo of smart, silly, and oh-so-snuggly. He’s eager to please, loves toys, and brings a goofy charm to everything he does. If you're looking for a loyal little shadow who will love you with his whole heart, make you laugh daily, and be the best sidekick you could imagine—Dodger is your guy. He’s ready to start his next chapter. If you go to the individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here: http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog. We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved. It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable. If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence. Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets. The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms. The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information. If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed. Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home. No application is approved prior to the home visit being done. At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer. We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio. April 2, 2025, 11:34 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Morgan's adoption donation is $500 and she is being fostered in North Carolina. She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention. She has also had a dental cleaning. Morgan came to rescue when her owner could no longer care for her. She likes to be where ever her person is; she loves being a lap dog most of all. Morgan gets along with all dogs and loves to play however she wants to be with her person most of all. While another dog is not neccessary, it is prederred as she always has been with itjer dogs and might have anxiety if she is all alone. She is great on potty training when kept on schedule. Morgan loves to eat anything She eats super fast so a slow bowl is neccessary. It's advisable not to leave any food within her reach. She is excellent on a leash so a fenced yard is not required. Morgan is going to be the best friend you ever had.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE: If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Marlowe’s adoption donation is $600 and she is being fostered in Central Ohio. She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention. She has also had a dental cleaning. Marlowe requires a secure, physically fenced yard. Marlowe is a petite, young white pom/yorkie mix who came into rescue through no fault of her own. She is 100% pure puppy! She LOVES to play, play AND play! She is very good at entertaining herself, but also loves to play with dogs and even cats! She LOVES her human and is a very good snuggler. You will have no personal space with Miss Marlowe! At first Marlowe is a shy girl but with some love and patience she will start to open up and feel comfortable. She is very smart and is quite the escape artist, so a secured yard is a must. She is learning to enjoy walks and loves to run errands with her foster mom. The perfect home for Marlowe would be an active home with a fenced yard and no children under the age of 8-10 due to her small size. Story
Interested in two small fluffy senior dogs? Meet Daisy Mae and her 'sister' Bessie Boo our maltese/shih tzu mixes. They lost the only home they've ever known when their owner passed away and are looking for a new retirement home where they can stay together. We dont know if they are actually sisters but they are both 11 years old. Daisy Mae is the motherly one of the pair and is the smaller one at a little over 9 lbs. She watches over Bessie and will not sleep or eat without her Bessie Boo. Both are very quiet and we havent heard daisy bark yet. Perfect for apartments or condo with shared walls! They have been used to living with a woman, but have no problems with getting attention from men. They have been around older children but not toddlers. Daisy loves being a lap baby and enjoys stretching out on the back of the couch like a cat. Larger dogs scare her but she is fine with small dogs and pays no mind to the vets cat. If you tell her go potty she will go outside with you. These two have a very special bond and have touched our hearts. We really want to keep them together, so if you have room for two tiny quiet girls, apply at www.caninecollective.org.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Mr. Billionaire or Billions as all his friends call him. This little Yorkie is quite the adventurer, coming to DASH from Texas on a plane. He is a typical Yorkie, wanting all of the attention, loves to play, go for walks and then ready to snuggle up in your lap for a great nap. He is potty trained, but does wear belly bands while inside to deter his marking. He has worn these since he was small, and he thinks they are just part of his outfits, which he loves to wear. He will go out his foster mom's doggie door, but is still working on using it to come back into the house. He is also crate trained, but is not crated in his foster home and does not tear up anything while alone. Some things we have learned in addition to those great qualities are he prefers women, gets along ok with the other small dogs in his foster home, but really would do best as your one and only pet as he doesn't like to share. He will also do best in a home where there are no young children or grandchildren coming in and out, due to his size. Older children should be fine as long as they are respectful of his space. He is just the sweetest boy who is ready to give all of his love to the right person. This boy is ready to continue on to new adventures with his forever home. * Note: Billions is part of our Foster to Adopt program. Apply now if you are interested in testing how he would acclimate in your home* Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 17, 2025, 4:20 pm

Adopting a Morkie

Frequently asked questions about acquiring an Morkie - the pros and cons of adopting versus going through a breeder, and associated costs.

The cost of adopting a Morkie through a shelter is much lower than buying one from a breeder. The average rescue adoption fee for a Morkie is around $300, which covers the expenses of caring for the dog before adoption. Buying a Maltipoo puppy from a reputable breeder can be very expensive, depending on their lineage and fur color. The average price of a Morkie from an ethical breeder is $1,000 to $3,000. Of course, please make the effort to adopt. If you are set on a certain breed, please also consider breed-specific rescues.

Morkie fun facts

Fun Facts:

One of the Morkie’s “parent” breeds, the Maltese, was adored by Greeks in the fourth and fifth century B.C.; Aristotle described them as “perfectly proportioned.”
