Story
Misu has been my loyal companion for over 12 years. I've had her since she was a puppy but now due to a new baby in our home plus caring for ill family members, I haven't been able to show her the same level of attention and care that I did when it was just us. Misu is mostly blind, but is still able to navigate the home fairly well after having some time to adjust. She is house-trained, but will have accidents if she isn't taken outside regularly or is under stress. With patience and care, Misu makes for great company on the couch watching your favorite shows, and especially loves sitting outside when the weather is nice. It would be great if Misu lived in a 1 story home, or otherwise only had access to one floor, and would likely do better in a home without young kids since she is older and prefers to sleep/lounge most of the day. Ideally her new home would have access to a fenced in yard as well since she hasn't done well with leashed walks since she lost her sight.

Story
Meet Fried Chicken! This 13lb cutie is ready to be your best friend and the center of your world! He’s the sweetest boy who loves snuggles on the couch, chew toys, and relaxing in his crate. He settles down easily when he’s on his own but if you’re in the room, he’ll want to be right in your arms. He came to us with some painfully matted fur and we were super lucky to get him into a groomer right away—look at those expressive eyes that were hiding under all that fluff! Now that he’s cleaned up, he’s super soft and feeling so much better! At a little over a year old, FC is still learning about the world. He’s adjusting to things like being newly hairless and the sounds of the dryer. He’s learning about meeting new people and exploring new spaces. But he is quickly conquering it all! He did well with his initial dog test and was non-reactive during a brief introduction to cats. Most importantly, this good boy is playful, endlessly charming, and eager to please his people!

Story
LOCATION: LINWOOD, NC ADOPTION FEE: $400 www.schnauzersaversrescuers.org MILO is a pure bred MALTESE, 5 yrs old male. He is white and feels like silk. He is UTD on vaccines/rabies and Bordetella, groomed and microchipped. He is neutered and heartworm negative. He’s on heartworm prevention and been dewormed. Milo never meets a stranger, no matter if it’s a dog or person. He adapts well to a new environment rather quickly. This little one is about 13 lbs. And he loves to be the boss, yet not in an aggressive way at all. He likes to talk to you and tell ou stories. Follows you around the house and learns very quickly. First day in his foster home, she moved the gate to enter into another room, turned around and within a minute, Milo moved the gate and followed her. He enjoys going outside in the fenced yard to explore. His foster Mom stays outside with him and he has good recall. He came as a breeder surrender, along with others. These dogs lived outdoors and still learning to go out on command. So Milo would do best being on a consistent schedule or a belly band in the beginning. He does well with other dogs in the home, but does like to take the role of being the leader. Kids should be over 10 as these dogs have never lived with a child of any age.
