Pinky is available to meet by appointment. Submit an application and an Adoption Counselor will reach out to you.Pinky can be a little persnickety when first meeting him, and doesn`t like being touched much until he has time to get to know you. Pinky has done very well in a foster home, and has really started to relax and open up. This is big for this little guy, given the condition he was in when he first came to us. Pinky was found wandering the streets and never claimed, so he was not the most trusting of people in the beginning. Also, when he first got to us his skin was bright pink, irritated and he had a ton of hair loss- we believe a mix of his poor health and lack of positive interactions with people led to his handling sensitivities- with positive reinforcement and the right medications he has come a long way but there is still room for improvement. Luckily this guy is a major foodie so snacks are definitely the key to earn his trust. He is pee-pad trained and does really well indoors, so anyone looking for a low key dog who doesn`t need to go out much would find their perfect match here! Despite his rotund figure he is quite playful! He loves his toys- stuffies that crinkle and squeak, balls he can chase after- you can tell he really loves a specific toy when he makes little piglike snorts which he’ll also make for you (when he decides you’re pals) when you walk in the door. Pinky certainly knows how to make you feel loved in his own funny way! There is no way not to love him when you see him sleeping belly up in his big fluffy bed, which he often likes to do. He just needs someone to give him a chance and let him have a bit of time to get to know you, and also someone who understands small dogs who can be a little particular, or dare we say, cranky at times. Pinky is looking for an adult only home so that he can continue to become accustomed to handling and build a bond with his person at his own pace. He is considered a special needs adoption due to his thyroid issues that he is on medication for as well as his handling sensitivities. Despite all his quirks, Pinky can be a really great dog for the right type of person and we`re sure his perfect match will come along. Do you have persnickety little dog experience and are willing to give this guy the patience and love he deserves? Submit an application to learn more about him!Pinky is now part of the extended stay club! Since he`s been here for longer, his adoption fee has been re

Story
Meet Rosie and Lilly! These two sweet little ladies will brighten up your days and melt your heart! They`re the two cutest sisters you`ll ever meet, and are in need of someone to give them a happy home and lots of love! These girls are a bit timid when meeting new people, and need someone who is willing to go slow and have a little bit of patience and understanding while they adjust to their new home and learn to trust you. Luckily, they`re big foodies, and with a little bit of roast beef or chicken, they will be your new best friends in no time! They lived in a home previously where they got lots of love and care, so they`re used to being adored and treated like the little princesses they are! They are pee pad trained and are used to spending their time indoors with all the comforts of home, including their fluffy beds and cozy blankets. Rosie is considered a special needs adoption because she has luxating patellas, meaning her kneecaps can be unstable in their joints. It is not currently causing her any issues and is very minor. Lilly is also considered special needs as she has a previous history of ear infections that may need treatment if they pop back up. These minor problems don`t stop these girls from living life to the fullest, and they hope it won`t stop you from giving them a chance! If you think your home would be a good fit for two sweet little gals in need of a family to love on them, you can apply for Rosie and Lily at capeannanimalaid.org/dogapp
