Story
✨ Meet Birdie & Minnie — A Magical Bonded Duo ✨ Palo Alto, CA • Northern CA Only • Must Be Adopted Together Birdie and Minnie are a tiny, blind bonded pair who navigate the world with trust, joy, and the cutest little confidence. Once they learn their space, they explore with ease, follow their humans like a cheerful parade, and give endless snuggles and kisses. Birdie (5 yrs, 9 lbs) — the gentle leader Minnie (2 yrs, 5.5 lbs) — her fluffy shadow who follows with total trust Both are spayed, recently had dentals, and an eye specialist believes they’ve been blind since birth. They play together, sleep together, and even share a food bowl — their bond is truly special. They’ll thrive in a calm home with predictable routines, baby gates for stairs, and ideally a gentle sighted dog to help guide them. Their foster family will walk adopters through everything they need. Meet‑and‑greets take place in their Palo Alto foster home where they feel safe. If you’re ready to love two tiny souls who will adore you forever, Birdie & Minnie are waiting. DNA...of the son and brother Echo...came back 77% poodle/9% chihuahua...That should be a match for Minnie and Birdie, too.  Hard to believe! Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for BIRDIE AND MINNIE is $600.00.  If you are interested in adopting BIRDIE AND MINNIE , please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area. See our other available dogs at  https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/available-dogs/ May 12, 2026, 5:25 pm

Story
Meet Wesley — Wesley is a 3&#226&#128&#145year&#226&#128&#145old, 13&#226&#128&#145lb Yorkie mix A perfect housemate Wesley is crate trained, potty trained, and a total gentleman around the house. He’s incredibly affectionate and lives for snuggles — whether he’s curled up beside his foster parents or cozied up with his doggy foster sister. One of his most endearing quirks? He loves to sleep flat on his back, belly up, completely relaxed and trusting. A sensitive soul outdoors Wesley shines in the comfort of home, but the outside world can feel a bit overwhelming. On leash, unfamiliar people and dogs can make him nervous, and he may bark and pull on his leash. His foster family has been working on his leash reactivity, and he's improved quite a bit. He is not comfortable with dogs he has not had enough time to meet, so dog parks are not for Wesley. We are seeking a home in areas that are not busy bustling city streets and sounds. He'd be happiest in neighborhoods that are quiet. His ideal home Wesley will thrive in a calm, patient household, ideally with another friendly dog who enjoys cuddles, relaxed hangouts, and gentle play. He’s not a match for cats — Wesley is not a fit for a home with children. Wesley is seeking a home with an experienced owner who is familiar with leash reactivity and can help Wesley feel comfortable on neighborhood strolls. And his new home must love cuddles!   Bay Area Adoption/Fostered in the San Jose Area. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for WESLEY is $300. If you are interested in adopting WESLEY, please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Story
Meet Smurf, your very own smurfectly snuggly sidekick with a permanently adorable “derp” (yes, that tongue is always out, and yes, it’s as cute as you’re imagining). This sweet senior boy likes to take things slow at first and may be a little reserved, but don’t be fooled, behind that shy start is a cuddle pro just waiting to clock in. Give him a little time, soft pets, and gentle attention, and Smurf blossoms into a surprisingly outgoing, affectionate companion. He loves being close whether that’s on your lap, in your arms, wherever the snuggles are strongest. He’s great with other dogs and thrives in a calm, loving space. If you’re looking for a tiny shadow with a big heart (and even bigger blep energy), Smurf is ready to be your forever cuddle buddy!
