Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This resilient 7-year-old poodle has been through a lot but is now ready for a loving home. Found on the streets with one of the worst cases of matting we’ve ever seen, his hair was so long it touched the ground. Sadly, neighborhood kids threw rocks at him as he ran through the streets, terrified and alone. It took an experienced trapper to safely bring him to our facility, where he arrived shaking and too scared to be touched by anyone. However, with time, patience, and care, he has blossomed into a wonderful companion. He now enjoys daily walks, loves being pet, gets the excitement zoomies, and gets along well with other dogs. He is a laid-back boy who especially gets excited for his leash time, happily joining other dogs on walks. He seems to be potty/house trained, as he will wait to use the bathroom when he gets walked. Fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped, this sweet poodle is ready to find his forever home. His adoption fee is $300. Could you be the one to give him the love he deserves?  Marley is currently in Texas, but transport is available to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, KY, or anywhere along the East Coast. Please note that an additional transport fee of $225 applies. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to regulations.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 15, 2024, 4:25 pm

Story
FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks! --- Meet Primrose. This adorable poodle girl is about 5 years old and 8 pounds! But don't let her wee size fool you... she's full of spunk and energy. (See fun video at foster home). Primrose and her 'baby daddy' were abandoned when her family moved. They took the puppies and left the adult dogs behind. Grrrrrr. Primrose would do with a tolerant dog, she's a little bossy now that she's settling in her foster home, and loves to steal all the toys! We think her ideal home has fully fenced yard to run and play. Kids over 12 please, just because of her small size. Primrose does alert bark on occasion, but her foster says she's not a 'barky' type of dog. She seems to be house trained, using doggy door to go outside and potty, but she may need reminders in a new home. This dog is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. She's heart worm negative. Primrose had to be shaved due to total matting of her coat. Her family will need to include grooming as part of their budget! The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training. Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. Adoptions typically take place in Arlington. Adoption fee is $325. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home. Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.

Story
Animal Profile: Ramen is an estimated 4 year old 15 lb neutered male miniature poodle who was a hot mess when he was pulled from the Carson shelter. He was at risk due to overcrowding but assessed to be friendly with people and dogs. We will share more about him as we get to know him in foster care.    Foster Update: Ramen is a cool little cup of noodles! He has been a quick study in foster care and is crate trained, potty trained, and walks well on leash. He loves to work and train and is very smart. He catches on to new commands quickly. Ramen would do best in an adult only household, as it takes him time to warm up to strangers and he is more trusting of female companions. He has showed a little resource guarding when it comes to removing high value toys from his possession, but his trainer is working on tackling that behavior. Ramen is dog friendly, and would be best matched with a similar sized female dog his age.   Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.   Apply online at  www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: Ramen was surrendered to Carson city shelter and transported to Dog Gone Seattle via Wiggle Butts arriving to foster care on 5/19/24; he will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care. October 16, 2024, 5:17 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Walter is an approximately 2 year old, ~16lb male poodle mix who was originally rescued from San Bernardino, CA. He was adopted and returned back to us when his family could no longer care for him.  Foster Update:   Meet Walter! He is a special boy looking for his forever family. In his foster home, Walter is driven by toys and especially loves playing fetch. He has good energy, and really enjoys taking walks outside. He has displayed good leash manners a majority of the time, but has pulled when he is excited. Ongoing leash training will be a benefit to Walter, so that he can continue with positive leash manners. He is very smart and motivated, and has learned a variety of tricks, from "roll over" to "paw" or "bang" from his foster. Walter's largest hurdles have been his wariness around strangers, and necessity for clear boundaries from his humans. While Walter is very affectionate with his foster family, he can take a little time to warm up to someone new, and does not appreciate strangers trying to pet him. It is important that his forever family can advocate for him when out in public or around new people, as it can be stressful for Walter if he feels like he always has to stand up for his needs. There are times where Walter may test boundaries within the home or be a bit more mouthy to communicate, so it is important that his family is comfortable setting clear boundaries for Walter so he knows what behaviors are and aren't allowed. The more Walter has clear expectations to follow and is advocated for, the more he can thrive. Due to his ability to be more mouthy, we are looking for an adult-only home for him. Adoption Info:  Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was surrendered to the San Bernardino City shelter on Jan 26 and transferred to Dog Gone Seattle arriving to foster care on Feb 4, 2024. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.October 16, 2024, 5:17 pm
