Snapshot of Sneakers: Size? Small Activity Level? Moderate Noise Level? I bark to alert you that something new is happening but quiet down quickly. Good with Dogs? Yes! Good with Cats? Yes! Good with Kids? Yes! Good with Strangers? Yes! Potty Trained? I know I should go potty outside, but I don't know how to give signals. Crate Trained? Yes! Shedding? Minimal About Sneakers: Meet Sneakers! The sweetest poodle mix who is sure to melt your heart the moment you meet him. Sneakers came to TCPR from a local animal control shelter where he was found as a stray. He took little to no time to settle in and has been cuddly and playful ever since. He enjoys roaming around our yard, chewing on squeaker toys or nyla bones, and following his humans around. He's also a HUGE fan of laying on your lap or right next to you when you're sitting down. If your lap is full and he can't find room next to you, he's also not opposed to climbing up to the top of the couch and using your head as a pillow. It's both surprising and adorable! Sneakers has done well when left alone outside of his crate! But we do crate him most of the time that we are gone. He needs a little bit of encouragement to go into his crate. However once he's in, he's quiet and typically just naps. He was intact when he first arrived so he marked a little. But that has improved since his neuter! He understands that he should go potty outside and will get his business done as soon as he's out. He just doesn't totally understand how to let us know when he has to go out. We've been taking him out semi consistently and he's doing well! When in his forever home, he should figure out the whole potty training thing pretty quickly with consistency and patience! In the meantime, belly bands have worked well! Overall, Sneakers is a fan favorite in our home and has SO much love to share! He would love to have a family that will let him snuggle with them at night as he really loves sleeping in our daughter's room with her. He would also do great in a home without other pets or in a family that is looking to expand their number of pets! He's easy going and generally quiet so he would also do well in a home with shared walls. Sneakers is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for his age. I'm a very handsome Miniature Poodle, and I'm discovering the joys of comfort and love in my foster home. Each day brings me more confidence, and I'm eager to share my overflowing love with a special someone—maybe that's you! I am a bit timid, sudden movements, commotion, and loud noises still make me a bit uneasy. However, I'm getting better at facing these fears every day. When foster mom is still, I'm all about those loving pets and cuddles. But if she's on the move, I keep my distance—I even bolt if she walks toward me. I know commands like "outside" and "stop," and leash and potty training are still on my to-learn list. I'm 95% potty trained, especially with a consistent routine. A fenced yard is a must for my adventurous spirit. I'd love to have a canine companion to show me the ropes, help me 'dog' properly, and boost my confidence. We're working on some manners, and my foster pals are excellent teachers. Walking on a leash needs some practice, and a confident pal by my side would be perfect. Despite being easily startled and a bit hand-shy, I've found joy in playing with toys, furry friends, and even those mysterious creatures called cats. I'm all about giving kisses, nibbling fingers, and enjoying ear scratches. Zoomies are my specialty, especially in the fenced yard or on the stairs. I've got some manners to polish up, like waiting for my turn and distinguishing between toys and household items – hee hee! I'm Heston, a 2-year-old male Poodle weighing in at 10 pounds. At first, I might seem a bit shy around new people and situations, but once I get comfortable, I'm a playful and cuddly little guy. I'm really smart and curious, always eager to learn and explore. I’ve been learning about trust and now I’m more apt to stay put than run, when approached.  Once I’m picked up I just melt right in for love.  That’ll likely be my personality all the time once I know you’re my people.  I’ve just started sleeping on my foster’s leg and inching my way up to hopefully a lap soon. I do have a fear of thunderstorms, so during those loud, stormy nights, I might need some extra comfort. I haven't been around young kids yet, but I think I'd do great with respectful children who understand how to be gentle and kind to me. Potty training is a work in progress for me. I’m trying hard to follow along and go potty outside but as close as I am to getting the hang of it, I might need a little transition time to learn it at my forever home too. I'm not the biggest fan of leashes and new things can make me nervous, so a fenced yard is a must for me. I've been on occasional walks, though, and I do know the command for “stay” which is what I’m told when they want to wrangle me in the harness.  I get along well with other dogs of all sizes, and while I don't need another dog in the house, having a furry friend to play with would be fantastic. I'm usually pretty quiet, except when the other pups start barking or when it's time for breakfast and dinner – then I might join in the chorus. One of my best qualities? I'm a world-class cuddler. I love nothing more than spending all day being held or sitting on a lap, soaking up all the love and affection. When foster mom says “Hey Buddy” I will come right away because she might have some good treats! Yummy! I am initially shy with strangers, but learning to be brave and with a little time we can be friends. I like to play in the big fenced yard and chase around with the other little dogs. I especially like to catch the leader and you can’t catch me – hee hee! I am getting used to coming back in the house when the other dogs go in- but I am still unsure of the sliding door, my people need to help me in. Good thing there are other dogs in the house, they have shown me so many new things about living in a home. While I would thrive with another dog in my forever home, it isn’t required. Although it would be good if someone was home a lot with me if I am the only dog. Other things I like to do is sit on foster mom’s lap and take a snooze. She says I have Velcro on my tummy because I like to stick to her – hee hee! I am really hoping you have a me-size spot available next to you! My second favorite place to relax are the dog beds. Since there are several dogs in my foster home, I have lots of options. I am a smart boy – I am doing great with potty training on a routine. In fact, so good that foster mom has been letting me sleep in her bed with the rest of the gang. We haven’t worked on leash training – so I require a fenced yard in my forever home. I am also learning the words “out”, “sit” and “stay”. My favorite word is “up” because that means up the stairs and into the bed. We are learning to play with toys, I have started to help myself to toys and trying to figure out catch. I will need more practice in my forever home. There are cats in my foster home and I don’t mind them. One is bigger than me and I tried to smell him – he boxed me a few times so I left him alone. I am a little too curious, so it would be best if there were no cats in my forever home. Not that I am a bad boy, but my curiosity might get me in trouble. My journey started a bit shaky—literally. When I first came into rescue, I was so scared of people and this big, confusing world. But with the help of my amazing foster family, both the humans and my doggo friends, I’m slowly blossoming into a confident poodle princess. When I’m feeling playful, I love to throw toys around and chase them—it’s like I play fetch with myself! I also enjoy chewing on bones and going for walks, especially when I’m feeling frisky. But what I really love is curling up next to my foster humans and dog friends for some good cuddles. I’m learning more each day that the world can be a safe and fun place, even though I still get a little nervous sometimes. Loud noises and certain people can spook me, so I do best with a double leash when we’re out and about, just to make sure I stay safe. Speaking of being outside, I’m working on my leash training, and I’m getting better every day. I’m also practicing my potty training – I am very good about going outside and using a potty pad if I can’t make it. I used to love my crate so much that I never wanted to leave, but now that I’m feeling braver, I’m not so into the whole crate thing. I don’t mind eating in there, but if you close the door, I’ll definitely let you know I’m not a fan! I’m also super attached to my foster dog siblings, especially the Cavaliers here. If I can’t see them, I get a little panicked, so another dog is required in my forever home to help me feel safe and confident. Oh, and did I mention I have the most beautiful blue eyes? I’m a total sweetheart who loves to cuddle and be close to my people. Watching me come out of my shell little by little has been really special for my foster family.
