Elliana They gave me a fancy name at last! Can you believe it? I have been used as a breeder dog for years and years and then dumped at the local pound with a mammary gland tumor that you could play tennis with!! Who does that!!! At least that is what my foster mom thinks my life has been like. I sat there in a cage at animal control for 4 weeks before anyone would think about pulling me out of there but my foster mom said that she had to take me home so that I would have a chance to be a beloved pet before I die. Not that I am planning to do that anytime soon, but you never know. Anyhow, I went to the vet right away and had that big nasty thing taken off my stomach and the vets knew right away what it was and what it was from. They took out the baby making bits as well, so I won’t have to go through having my babies and then losing them right away to being just a baby and money making factory for somebody. Sheesh….get a job!! I have some issues, I won’t lie, but I am starting to kind of get used to being out of a cage, where I learned to circle around and around as there wasn’t a lot of space in those things. I can walk in a straight line and the more I get time outside, the more I am enjoying the fresh air and smells in the grass. I will revert to circles when I am nervous but Rome wasn’t built in a day and I have only had freedom for a couple of months now. I don’t have many teeth, as the ones I did have were rotted and broken from trying to eat the bars I suppose. I startle easily from the lack of being held and loved in my former life, and will try to “gum” you if I pick me up too quickly. But speaking to me and touching me before you pick me up will let me know you are there and going to be gentle with me. I am still getting used to the being held part, and sometimes can’t tolerate it very long, but I am learning and going slow is really helpful to me. I am learning what good food tastes like, and what a soft bed feels like, and while I have pretty limited vision to see things, I can follow my nose and it helps me to find everything I need to get around. Foster mom leaves me a puppy pad to potty on in the house if I have to go at night, and I am pretty good at using it. It took a while to figure out that is what it was for, but also, if I potty outside after meals, I am good if I keep to a schedule. So that is my story. If you are interested in giving a blind old lady a soft landing for the rest of my life, let me know. Local adoption in Texas only please.

Me me me me meeeeeee!!!!!! What? Oh. My foster mom says that is NOT how to spell my name. It is spelled “MiMi" which sounds the same but who cares how it is spelled. I am a vintage model of a little poodle and I was a much loved member of the family at one time. Not to say that I am spoiled or anything but I know what I want when I want it! So it really is all about me! I adore being around my people and love being held. I will make little whimpering noises if you are there and I think I haven’t had enough lap time and look at you with my puppy dog eyes so that you feel guilty and pick me up where I want to be. I am a healthy 14 year old poodle who is scheduled for spay and teeth cleaning on Jan. 5th and then will be able to go to my new home after that. I use a potty pad when I am sleeping on the floor, but my foster mom puts a diaper on me when I sleep on your bed because I am not too keen about jumping off the bed. So when I have to potty, if I am on the bed, sometimes I will potty the bed. But the diaper takes care of that. I am a whopping 10 pounds and do walk pretty well of a leash as long as you don’t walk too fast. I am housebroken if you take me out on a schedule. Adoption fee in Texas is $200 Out of State fee with transport and fuel surcharge is $450.

Hello, my name is Rusty. I’m a breeder release, and I came into rescue with my very best friend Fancy, another lovely mini poodle. We were a breeding pair. She has been adopted, and it makes me sad and I really need an outgoing dog in my new home. Life is still pretty new and a little overwhelming for me, but with time and kindness, I’m learning what it means to feel safe and loved. I’m very shy around people because I didn’t get much socialization early in life. But don’t worry—once I warm up, I become shyly playful, especially with my foster mom. I’m still figuring out this whole “being loved” thing, and patient humans make all the difference. Where I truly shine is with other small playful dogs. They make me happy and give me joy. If you have a friendly, social dog at home, I bloom into a bouncy, happy boy. Without another dog, I become lonely, sad and unsure—so I must have a canine companion in my forever home. My potty training is still a work in progress, but I’m trying my best every day. I am not currently leash trained but working on it. Best in a fenced yard. Kids may be too much for me as fast movements scare me. Miriam is a very sweet, loyal little peanut. She loves to keep me in her eye sight and will follow me around the house. She is an amazing snuggler and makes a great lazy day partner watching movies or just hanging with you. Miriam is new to Minnesota so I am not sure how she does on a leash yet for walking but we will walk soon when weather permits. Miriam is potty trained, is fostered with 3 resident dogs, a resident cat and foster kitten and does well with all of them. She mostly just does her own thing currently but anticipate she may start to play more as she starts to feel comfortable. She has not met my grand kids yet but is a very mellow, chill girl so I anticipate she will do fine with them. Currently she sleeps in a crate next to our bed with no problems and sleeps through the night, i anticipate she will do just fine without a crate and left out as well and sleep with you , unfortunately my two chihuahuas do not like sharing their bed with others, so that is not an option with us. I will update her bio as I learn more about her, but she is a true sweetie and while she may be a little shy, with time and patience and lots of love and cuddles she will blossom. Oh, did I mention she has the cutest little begging prance when she is excited? Absolutely adorable. Miriam is estimated to be 2 years old and 10 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested.
