Hi, I'm Buddy! I am an 11 month old Mini Aussiedoodle on the hunt for my forever home.  I may be a bit shy when we first meet, but give me a moment and I'll be your loyal friend. I'm young, full of life and just need a bit of patience. I promise, I'm worth it. I love to play, but I also enjoy quiet moments. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Bailey Bee is a busy Bee she flies one spot to another and another (she bounces all over the furniture and her persons. She loves everyone but wants to chase the cats ( I don't have dog friendly cats so they run) She is potty trained through a doggy door but for some reason I still find little puddles and little poos in the house. The outside world is very scary for her as she had lived a sheltered life until she came to me. As far as car rides she's ready to go but she shakes the shivers the whole time But getting better at it. She is also learning how to play and what she can play with. Trying to teach her to quit biting while playing. Local adoption fee is $350. Out of state adoption fee is $600 This includes transportation to your area. An additional $50 fuel surcharge is in effect at this time.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Holly (darker colored) and Patsy (lighter colored) are a bonded pair. Their DNA test showed that they are a Pug/Poodle Mix! They weigh 12 and 15lbs. They are very sweet gals. They are quite affectionate with others and each other. We guess their birthday is somewhere around 7/2022 - 12/2022. They get along great with other dogs of all sizes. They even boss my 70lb Lab/Pittie mix around with ease. They haven't been around cats, but I believe they’d do fine.  They are very treat motivated. They are potty trained on a schedule. They greet me very excitedly each day when I get home.  They both love attention, snuggles and belly rubs. They are pretty active when they are outside and love to play and run in a fenced yard. They are escape artists so a secure 6’ fence is a must with these two or they will need to be on a tie out. They do play and get vocal at times inside. Walks are a work in progress for them. They tend to bark and react to squirrels and other dogs walking by but with some training and guidance, this should improve over time. When you settle down to watch a movie, they will too. They are great snugglers. When I work from home, they want to be near me, sometimes even in my lap. They spend weekdays in their kennels for about 8 hours. After being bounced around, Ozzy's ready to settle down in a home where he’s cherished and understood.  Although Ozzy is listed as a Poodle, my thought is he is more of a terrier mix so yes, he does shed and is not hypo-allergenic :) Ozzy is a certified people-lover. He’s your shadow, always by your side, whether you’re working, sleeping, or just chilling. His loyalty is so strong that he gets pretty bummed out when you leave, so a home without shared walls is best for this vocal buddy. Kennels are a big no-no for Ozzy; past experiences have left him with a fear of them, so he’s kennel-free. When Ozzy first arrived, he had some anxiety, but with patience and guidance from his doggy pals, he’s learned the ropes. He enjoys the great outdoors, running and rolling in the backyard. While he’s not big on playing with other dogs, he’s happy to coexist with them. Ozzy has a knack for dashing out the door—think “run like the wind”! His new family will need to be vigilant about open doors. A little health note: Ozzy tested positive for Lyme disease. While it's not affecting him now, it's important for his new family to be aware. I'm a very handsome Miniature Poodle, and I'm discovering the joys of comfort and love in my foster home. Each day brings me more confidence, and I'm eager to share my overflowing love with a special someone—maybe that's you! I am a bit timid, sudden movements, commotion, and loud noises still make me a bit uneasy. However, I'm getting better at facing these fears every day. When foster mom is still, I'm all about those loving pets and cuddles. But if she's on the move, I keep my distance—I even bolt if she walks toward me. I know commands like "outside" and "stop," and leash and potty training are still on my to-learn list. I'm 95% potty trained, especially with a consistent routine. A fenced yard is a must for my adventurous spirit. I'd love to have a canine companion to show me the ropes, help me 'dog' properly, and boost my confidence. We're working on some manners, and my foster pals are excellent teachers. Walking on a leash needs some practice, and a confident pal by my side would be perfect. Despite being easily startled and a bit hand-shy, I've found joy in playing with toys, furry friends, and even those mysterious creatures called cats. I'm all about giving kisses, nibbling fingers, and enjoying ear scratches. Zoomies are my specialty, especially in the fenced yard or on the stairs. I've got some manners to polish up, like waiting for my turn and distinguishing between toys and household items – hee hee! Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    I’m fairly new here but have been gaining confidence by the day!  As with most dogs, when I first meet someone, I’m a little shy and timid.  I’m really curious inside and want to be near so it’ll just need a bit of time to know that you’re a safe space for me.  I’ve been learning about trust and now I’m more apt to stay put than run, when approached.  Once I’m picked up I just melt right in for love.  That’ll likely be my personality all the time once I know you’re my people.  I’ve just started sleeping on my foster’s leg and inching my way up to hopefully a lap soon. In my spare time I enjoy eating and playing with other dogs.  I’m trying hard to follow along and go potty outside but as close as I am to getting the hang of it, I might need a little transition time to learn it at my forever home too. I do well in the kennel and am working on going inside on command.  Won’t that be a neat trick?! I do need a fenced yard in my forever home. When it is time to put on a leash and harness, I get worried. We are practicing how to stay put nicely to put on a harness without bolting.  HAHA  I’m tricky like that.  I haven’t really had any true leash walking experience so that’s something we can practice.  I do know the command for “stay” which is what I’m told when they want to wrangle me in the harness.  I have been snarky with some of the other dogs here when it comes to my food.  I have to tell them to buzz off, that it’s mine.  That seems to be all it is, as I’m not aggressive.  I can be an only dog too if you’d like.
