Story
***Kasper will be available for adoption at the Tractor Supply in Ringoes, NJ over the Nov. 16-17 weekend. An application for his adoption should be submitted at socorescue.com (no need to "Register" or "Login"). Questions about Kasper and/or our adoption policy should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com; please do not call the shelter's number.***   After a Glenwood family's home was damaged due to Hurricane Helene, they reached out to SoCo Rescue seeking help in re-homing the dogs that they had. Initially they stated that they had 20 dogs, but that number soared to 28 dogs once Scott Bennett arrived to the house. Most of the dogs, which ranged in ages from 2 months to 4 years old, suffered major hair loss due to flea and mite infestation. The worst were the five little puppies who were missing all of their fur, having open, bloody wounds from constant scratching and very anemic. Scott knew if them then they would most likely perish so he took them to SoCo Rescue and immediately began their care. While they haven't regrown all of their fur, the pups are looking and feeling much better and should make a full recovery.    Kasper's very friendly and playful personality will captivate your heart in an instant. This little fellow seems to only know love and has a strong desire to be with his human counterparts. He will do very well in a home with children who know how to handle a small dog. Kasper will fill your home with much love and happiness.   Kasper has received 2 of his 3 first year vaccinations as well as his rabies and Bordetella vaccinations. He's also been de-wormed, treated for parasites and started on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. He will require grooming on a regular basis. We strongly suggest keeping him on Nexgard flea/tick preventative for at least the first 6 months of life then switching to Bravecto as both of those products work very well in treating a number of skin issues. Kasper's adopter must agree to having him neutered once he reaches 6 months of age and providing verification of such to our rescue. Kasper will require all of his basic training. He is accustomed to being in a crate as well.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 13, 2024, 12:00 am

Being all white in color, the fleas and mites really did a number on her body. Despite being in pain and discomfort, Krista still exhibited a very friendly and affectionate personality. She loves to be held and loved on and simply adores human contact. She will make an excellent choice for anyone seeking a playful, adorable little lap dog. We expect that she'll grow to being between 15-20lbs once fully grown.   Krista has received 2 of her 3 first year vaccinations as well as her rabies and Bordetella vaccinations.
