Story
I adopted T-Roy from Atlanta Midtown Humane Society in 2019. He was a stray, so my veterinarian guesses his age to be @12 years old. He is a good dog as a single dog household. I thought since he was so good, to adopt 2 other dogs, which proved to not work so well. He displays aggression towards my other male dog. The ideal home would be with someone who has no other pets. T-Roy likes to take long naps throughout the day, but also enjoys walks on a leash. He knows basic commands such as “sit” and “come”. He enjoys grooming, with the exception of nails trimmed. He has a “pinched nerve” that acts up i his spine occasionally, which makes him walk sideways and is tender to the touch for picking up. I have him crawl into his dog bed to move him, if I need to get him up in the sink(for bathing). He likes to sleep in my bed when it’s just him. With the other dogs, he does better sleeping in his crate. He loves traveling in the car, especially the front passenger seat with the window down.

Story
***KoKo will be available for adoption at the Tractor Supply in Ringoes, NJ over the Nov. 16-17 weekend. An application for her adoption should be submitted at socorescue.com (no need to "Register" or "Login"). Questions about KoKo and/or our adoption policy should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com; please do not call the shelter's number.***   After a Glenwood family's home was damaged due to Hurricane Helene, they reached out to SoCo Rescue seeking help in re-homing the dogs that they had. Initially they stated that they had 20 dogs, but that number soared to 28 dogs once Scott Bennett arrived to the house. Most of the dogs, which ranged in ages from 2 months to 4 years old, suffered major hair loss due to flea and mite infestation. The worst were the five little puppies who were missing all of their fur, having open, bloody wounds from constant scratching and very anemic. Scott knew if them then they would most likely perish so he took them to SoCo Rescue and immediately began their care. While they haven't regrown all of their fur, the pups are looking and feeling much better and should make a full recovery.    For such a small dog, KoKo is full of spunk and enthusiasm. But that's not to say she isn't also very friendly and affectionate. She's very playful and gets along great with other dogs and thrives on human contact. She will make an excellent choice for anyone looking for a little lap dog, and will do very well around children who are knowledgable in handling a small dog.    KoKo has received 2 of her 3 first year vaccinations as well as her rabies and Bordetella vaccinations. She's also been de-wormed, treated for parasites and started on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. She will require grooming on a regular basis. We strongly suggest keeping her on Nexgard flea/tick preventative for at least the first 6 months of life then switching to Bravecto as both of those products work very well in treating a number of skin issues. KoKo's adopter must agree to having her spay once she reaches 6 months of age and providing verification of such to our rescue. KoKo will require all of her basic training. She is accustomed to being in a crate as well.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 13, 2024, 12:23 am

This little fellow is full of affection and determination to find a home that can give him all of the love that he deserves. He will do best in a home with children who know how to handle a very small dog.   Kirby has received 2 of his 3 first year vaccinations as well as his rabies and Bordetella vaccinations. Being all white in color, the fleas and mites really did a number on her body. Despite being in pain and discomfort, Krista still exhibited a very friendly and affectionate personality. She loves to be held and loved on and simply adores human contact. She will make an excellent choice for anyone seeking a playful, adorable little lap dog.
