Story
Jack is a 18 pound poodle mix. He is estimated to be around 10-12 years old. He was recently surrendered to a shelter. We will not focus on his past but only his future. He does have cataracts and may be partially blind but gets around well. He is good with other dogs and is friendly. He will make a good lap pet for someone who just wants a dog to chill with them. Please consider adopting this senior boy and showing him not everyone will give up on him

Story
Hi there, I’m Barkley, but you can call me “Stash” – yeah, you see that glorious mustache? I mean, I’ve got the facial hair of a gentleman, but don’t be fooled – I’m all about fun! They call me “Stash Barkley” around here because I rock this ‘stache like a legend. I’m a poodle mix (possibly with a little terrier in me), so I’ve got the charm and smarts, but just a heads-up – I can’t promise I’m completely shed-free. I’m four years old and have the energy of a puppy, which means I’m always up for playtime! Just this week, I learned this super cool game called fetch. (Why didn’t anyone tell me about this sooner?) You throw the toy, I bring it back, and we both get a good laugh – it’s the best! Toys? Obsessed. Chewies? Can’t get enough. Belly rubs? Just say when. I also love to wrestle and hang out with my foster brother and sister – they’re a pretty fun crowd, and I fit right in. I get along great with other dogs and people too, because I’m just the happiest little guy around! I’m still learning the whole potty-training thing. But now that I’m “fixed” (don’t ask – it was a bit of a surprise to me too), things should get easier. I’d do best with someone who’s home often or works from home regularly, especially while I’m getting the hang of potty training. And having a doggie friend and a yard for quick bathroom breaks would make things even better! Oh, and bedtime? I’m a pro. I sleep right through the night, snuggled up in bed with my foster parents – it’s cozy and perfect, just the way I like it. I came from a busy shelter after my previous family fell on hard times. But I’m not letting that bring me down – I’ve settled right into this new life and am ready to bring my mustache, my playfulness, and my love of life to a new forever family. So, whaddya say? Don’t you want this ‘Stash in your life? Thank you for your interest in one of our furry kids! Adopting from Releash Atlanta means you will adopt a dog that has been fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped and medically cleared!! Story
Marco is the cutest, sweetest 15-year-old dog I have ever known. I adopted him from the Humane Society. Initially very timid, he has gradually come out of his shell. Marco mainly sleeps but will walk around when he's hungry, needs to go outside, or just wants to stretch his legs. He loves being outside and lying in the grass. Remarkably, he does not lick or bark—I've only heard him bark four times in the three years I've had him, the last time being two years ago. Marco has cataracts but manages to get around on his own, although he doesn't navigate stairs by himself. He is very friendly to other dogs and people. Due to his vision, it's best to let him smell your hand first before petting him, as he can get startled if approached too quickly. He is afraid of thunder, so expect him to seek snuggles during storms. Marco is an easy-going dog. If you want to sleep in, he'll sleep in too. I want Marco to have a home where he is attentively cared for, safe, and lo

I will provide financial support for a year for food and doctor visits. 11 years old, Jack Russell & Poodle
Birthday: October 26th Bella is a sweet dog when in a safe comfortable space. Timid, especially around strangers. She’s incredibly loving and affectionate during one-on-one time. She’s potty trained, smart, and very alert—a true lifesaver. Bella would thrive best in a single-person household, ideally with an older adult or someone who can provide her with plenty of attention and love.

Story
A FUN FELLOW WITH SOME CHALLENGES:  Approx. 9 years old / Approx. 18 lbs.   Hi, my name is Herman!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control and boy, am I glad they did!  I needed some TLC, and it didn’t take me long to realize I had come to the right place for that when I joined the MM family!  I came in heartworm positive, and I’ve already been treated for that! I also needed a good dental cleaning which I received thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization!  I’ve got hearing and vision loss, but I also have a great spirit and lots of love to give, so come meet me and see if we’re a great match.  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and though I was a tad barky once we engaged in play, I liked spending time with them.  In my foster home, I felt the need to protect a treat I was eating and a toy I was playing with, so I’d need my future doggie sibling to understand this boundary of mine. I do like playing with other dogs, so if you have a nice doggie at home that would understand not to press my boundaries, let’s meet!  I am dog reactive to other dogs when on walks, but just hold my leash and move me away from the dog and we’ll be fine. / I’ve been good with the kitty cats in my foster home, so if you have a dog-friendly kitty, let’s meet! / I recently met a boy and girl around 10 years old in my foster home and I liked them!  If you have kids around that age or older at home that would understand I am a bit jumpy when I first meet people, and that understand I have vision and hearing loss, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a super friendly little guy with a playful and fun nature.  I’m enthusiastic when I play and love spending time with my foster family – greeting them with my happy nature, wagging tail and little air bites when I’m excited!  My foster family also reports that I’m a very sweet and a loving guy who is a funny fellow with a chill and playful spirit!  I’ve been great for my baths and my foster recently said that I was an inspiration to her since I have sight and hearing loss – but I don’t let anything get me down – I just navigate around things, bonk my nose at times but nothing stops me and my happy little self.  Of course, I’ll need my family to keep me safe on stairs, etc. / My energy level is 4-6.           • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’, stay’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘place’, ‘leave it’ and ‘down’ commands so far and I’m sure you can teach me lots more! I’m a little jumpy when I meet new people, so I’m working on that now. / My crate manners are good in my foster home. I sleep there overnight without any issues. / My potty manners are good in my foster home.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I absolutely love squeaking squeaky toys - it’s just SO much fun! I also enjoy exploring the house, the yard, and going for walks in the neighborhood, though I’m reactive to cars, dogs and other things that move when walking. I like toys a lot and if I don’t want to give one up, just trade it for another one. I will snuggle up next to you for a nap after an afternoon of playing ball and enjoying our time together.  I’m a power chewer and really enjoy a good chew bone.  I’m very food motivated, and love treat puzzles and treat balls – so fun!  I’m also a fan of belly rubs and getting lots of love and attention. / I can’t think of any dislikes, other than being reactive as mentioned above, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, playtime with my family and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I don’t have sight in my right eye due to a cataract and my foster can tell I have some sight loss in my left eye too and hearing loss. I’ve had a good dental cleaning, and 11 teeth pulled, so my mouth is fresh again! I’ve been treated for heartworms and will have a re-check in March 2025, so local adoption please. A mass was found on my neck, and it appears to be a benign cyst.  I’ll need my family to monitor it, and have it removed if it grows.  I am looking for a great home with a loving family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    November 3, 2024, 8:07 am
