Story
Meet Raven and her 2 siblings who came to Furkids when their owners could no longer care for them. We're glad they came to us so we can find them a forever home! Raven a lively puppy with an infectious energy that's sure to brighten up your day. Raven is smart too, showing great potential for learning new tricks and commands. However, she's a bit shy and under-socialized, so she'll need a patient owner who's willing to help her come out of her shell. Raven gets along well with other dogs, making her a great addition to a multi-pet household. She requires professional training to fully flourish, but the reward of seeing her progress is immeasurable. Adopt Raven, and you'll gain a loyal friend who'll add joy and excitement to your life. The puppies estimated birth date is 04/01/2024 and each puppy has an adoption fee of $500. Puppies require a lot of time and commitment. Please make sure your schedule can accommodate a puppy as they will be a member of your family for the next 10 to 15 years. If you want to know more about Raven, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. Meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Jack is a 18 pound poodle mix. He is estimated to be around 10-12 years old. He was recently surrendered to a shelter. We will not focus on his past but only his future. He does have cataracts and may be partially blind but gets around well. He is good with other dogs and is friendly. He will make a good lap pet for someone who just wants a dog to chill with them. Please consider adopting this senior boy and showing him not everyone will give up on him

Story
Marco is the cutest, sweetest 15-year-old dog I have ever known. I adopted him from the Humane Society. Initially very timid, he has gradually come out of his shell. Marco mainly sleeps but will walk around when he's hungry, needs to go outside, or just wants to stretch his legs. He loves being outside and lying in the grass. Remarkably, he does not lick or bark—I've only heard him bark four times in the three years I've had him, the last time being two years ago. Marco has cataracts but manages to get around on his own, although he doesn't navigate stairs by himself. He is very friendly to other dogs and people. Due to his vision, it's best to let him smell your hand first before petting him, as he can get startled if approached too quickly. He is afraid of thunder, so expect him to seek snuggles during storms. Marco is an easy-going dog. If you want to sleep in, he'll sleep in too. I want Marco to have a home where he is attentively cared for, safe, and lo

METRO ATLANTA AREA ONLY Holly and Boo - Bonder Pair That Must Stay Together UPDATE 6/12/24:   This precious duo was completely vetted on 6/10/24 and are current on all vaccinations, heartworm and fecal tested (& negative), microchipped, and were already spayed/neutered. They are now in temporary foster care until 7/3/24 and arrived there on 6/11/24 evening.  They are so darn cute that the one who coordinate this rescue wanted to keep herself but will resist as she has a houseful of geriatric dogs that require round the clock care.  More history on them:  Holly (poodle) was adopted when she was a baby; Boo was rescued @ 3-4 months old, so they’ve grown up together.  Holly is dependent on Boo – follows his lead and is always w/Boo.  Although Boo is a little skittish upon meeting new people, he is the “alpha” of the two.  Both get along with everyone.  Boo doesn’t want you in his face until he knows you – he’ll growl at you to let you know.  They are so stinkin’ cute with such easy and adorable personalities and so small!  Boo is only 6.9#, and Holly is 10.3#!  We need a forever home for them by 7/3/24; if not, a foster home by 7/3/24. ___________________________________________ We are urgently putting this post up now (6/9/24, 9:30 am) so the bios below will be very short. We just received word that these two small babies need rescue ASAP - prior owner committed suicide of Boo, the doxie-chihuahua mix, and the current person has him.  Holly, the poodle, and Boo have bonded, but the person who has both cannot keep & they're in threat of going to the pound! IF you would foster, we KNOW we will get a home for them but need it ASAP! Would you consider fostering them? Story
A FUN & SWEET FELLOW:  Approx. 9 years old / Approx. 18 lbs.   Hi, my name is Herman!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control and boy, am I glad they did!  I needed some TLC, and it didn’t take me long to realize I had come to the right place for that when I joined the MM family!  They have seen to it that my positive heartworm condition was treated and thankfully I am now in my recovery period.  Also, I needed a good dental cleaning which I have received thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization!  I am ready to find my new family! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I recently met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and – though I was a tad barky once we engaged in play, I liked spending time with them.  In my foster home, I felt the need to protect a treat I was eating and a toy I was playing with, so I’d need my future doggie sibling to understand this boundary of mine.  If you have a nice doggie at home that would understand not to press my boundaries, let’s meet! / I’ve been pretty good with the kitty cats in my foster home. We are still getting used to each other and I’m very interested in them but I’m respectful.  If you have a dog-friendly kitty, let’s meet! / I recently met a boy and girl around 10 years old in my foster home and I liked them!   If you have kids around that age or older at home that would understand I am a bit jumpy when I first meet people, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a super friendly little guy with a playful and fun nature.  I’m enthusiastic when I play and love spending time with the nice volunteers and everyone I’ve met in my foster home! My foster family reports that I’m a very sweet and loving guy who is also a funny fellow with a chill and playful spirit!  I was also a real trooper for my medicated spa bath when I arrived at MM. / My energy level is 4-6.            • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘place’, ‘leave it’ and ‘down’ commands so far and I’m working on even more in my foster home, so I’m sure you can teach me lots more! I’m a little jumpy when I meet new people, so I’m working on that now. / My crate manners are good in my foster home. I sleep there overnight without any issues. / My potty manners are good in my foster home. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love exploring the house, the yard, and the neighborhood when we go for walks.  I also just love being near everyone in my foster home.  I will snuggle up next to you for a nap after an afternoon of playing ball if you let me!  Running around in my foster’s yard is great fun too, but I do have to keep that to a minimum until I’ve completed my rest/recovery time.  At the shelter, I enjoyed playing with toys, Pup-Peroni treats, cheese, taking walks, exploring, belly rubs and getting lots of love and attention. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I don’t have sight in my right eye due to a cataract. I’ve had a dental cleaning, and 11 teeth pulled, so my mouth is fresh again! Unfortunately, my previous owner did not keep me on a monthly heartworm preventative, so I was heartworm positive.  Thankfully, I’ve been treated for it and am in my recovery period now, which will conclude mid-late October.  I will have my heartworm re-check in March 2025.  I am still available for adoption during this time, but local adoption only, please.  A mass was found on my neck, and it appears to be a benign cyst.  I’ll need my family to monitor it, and have it removed if it grows.  I am looking for a great home with a loving family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.     October 3, 2024, 12:41 pm

Story
A BUSY & FUN LITTLE GUY:  Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 10 lbs.  Hi, my name is Warren, and I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control.  I’ve been having fun here with all the nice volunteers and my trainer and have just gone into a foster home so there will be more info. about me soon. I’m ready to find a great family to have fun with as I am an active fellow! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I haven’t officially met other dogs at Mostly Mutts yet, but I have not been comfortable, and have been a bit reactive with the larger dogs I’ve seen, so if you have a smaller dog, let’s meet! / I visited a home with a kitty cat, and we all agree that I should not live with cats. / I recently met a boy and girl around 10 years old who respected my boundaries at Mostly Mutts and I liked them.  I don’t like my hind quarters touched much, so older kids such as 10+ who understand this boundary would be best for me and let’s meet!  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers describe me as a sweet little guy, who is friendly, playful, affectionate and very active!  I’m full of energy, cute as can be and quite bouncy!  I do bark a good bit so I shouldn’t live in an apartment/condo type home, and I get underfoot, so I shouldn’t live in a home with anyone who is at risk of falling. I’d like a stay or work from home family member as I don’t think I’d be happy being alone for a full workday. I’m super excited to go car rides, so please make sure you keep me leashed as once we stop – I’m ready to run out and have some fun. / Energy level: 5 -7+  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I was working on the ‘sit’, ‘down’ and ‘place’ commands with my trainer before going into a foster home and I’m looking for someone who will be patient with me and is committed to working on my training as I seem to have a somewhat short attention span, but I know I can learn with positive reinforcement!  / My crate manners are pretty good at Mostly Mutts, though I’m in a room with other dogs and can be barky about that so we found that covering my crate with a sheet is helpful.  I don’t think this will be needed in my new home – but time will tell. / I’ve had some accidents on the shelter schedule, so please be consistent with taking me outside to potty and hopefully I’ll master my potty manners soon.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like playing with toys and running around and being silly!  My fur is like silk so I’m sure you will love petting me and I like being loved on. / I wouldn’t want to spend a lot of time home alone and I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.  When I arrived at Mostly Mutts, my fur was tangled and very matted in my hind quarters, so I’ve been nicely groomed now, but my hind quarters are still very sensitive to touch.  I’m a great little dog looking for a great family to love and take good care of me furever!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    October 3, 2024, 12:41 pm
