Story
Bruiser is roughly 3 years old. He's been a great companion for his older brother, but I have been having work/time issues with keeping up with his training. I will also be moving and I can only have one dog unfortunately. I adopted him new years day of 2024, I've worked hard on building his confidence getting home kennel trained, and pretty much house broken. He definitely came from an abusive home prior to me as it took me over a year to get him to be confident. He is super loving. And deserves a home that can give him all the attention he needs. Ideally in a relaxed environment. I just feel terrible I have been neglecting time with him. He does well with other dogs, cats ..... He likes to chase them but is not aggressive towards them, kids...... Not sure. Things he is working on: sudden movements, loud voices. He is a timid dog in general but warms up to a person after he feels he's safe. He loves toys and really loves to cuddle.

Darius was found hiding in someone's camper trailer as a puppy . He is a little shy at first but would love to open up and trust the right person. He is learning to walk on a leash. He is ok in a kennel if needed. He could be about 25 lbs fully grown. He is fixed, and has shots and microchip, ready for his furrever home!

Story
Gypsy is a very laid-back Miniature Pincher not quite typical of the breed. She may be a mix, however. She does have a docked tail though. She is as sweet as she is pretty. She was a bit overweight when she came to us, but has lost some of her weight. Sadly, she was found in the parking lot of a hospital, which makes us wonder if her owner wasn’t hospitalized and had to let her go with no one to care for her. We have waited long and looked hard hoping an owner would come forward. She is just as sweet and gentle as she can be. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She would be perfect for somebody who wants a dog to be with them and just hang out with not a whole lot of activity. She enjoys walks, however, and appears to be house trained, at least with the dog door, but we cannot guarantee that. She is estimated to be 3 1/2 years old and Gypsy weighed 19 pounds at the time of her spay although she has lost a little since then. Gypsy is not a nervous dog and not a barker! Gypsy’s adoption fee is $275 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! If you would like to be considered to for this adoption or any of our amazing rescues, please fill out the application with the help of this link. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/Arizona Shih Tzu and Small Breed Rescue 501(c)(3) We review each application carefully. Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair every dog and family for a successful and happy life.
