Story
Are you a cat lover but would like to try out something new, like a dog!? If so, Dorver is perfect for you! Not only does he have delightfully short cat ears and a long tail, but he also enjoys curling up in laps for kisses. He has been introduced to other dogs in our playgroups and would do best as an only pet or in a home with a low energy dog of similar size. We do not recommend him in a home with smaller critters. Due to how nervous he can be around new things; we would not suggest he live with children under the age of 12. Come on down for some Dorver kisses and see if he would be a good fit for you!

Story
Patience is a 3 1/2 -year-old Bulldog mix who is equal parts energy and affection. This lovable girl is looking for a home that will not only meet her high energy needs but also help her build confidence as she navigates her fears. Despite her name, Patience is a bit of a scaredy-cat at heart, and many of her behaviors stem from fear. Her ideal family will take the time to understand her, help her feel safe, and provide the structure and consistency she thrives on. Patience recently went through a training program with Miracle K9 training and comes with follow up training for her new adopter. Here’s why Patience`s foster mom thinks she will make a wonderful companion: Housebroken and Crate Trained: She’s got the basics down! Patience is fully housebroken and feels comfortable in a crate or crated area.Great Routine Buddy: She loves having a routine and would do well with a family committed to training and creating structure.Chill at Home: While she has lots of energy outdoors, she also knows how to relax. She’s happy to snooze in the mornings or lounge on the couch while her person works.Ultimate Lovebug: Patience adores snuggling in bed or curling up on the couch and doesn’t mind acting like a lapdog – tail wagging all the way!Respectful of the Home: She doesn’t get into things she shouldn’t, with the exception of sneaking into trash cans without lids (watch out for those tissues!).The ideal home for Patience is an active and committed adopter. She’d thrive with an active person or family who can meet her energy needs through walks, playtime, or a fenced yard where she can zoom around.A patient adopter willing to help her navigate her fears and triggers; while giving her time to settle into her new home (she typically adjusts around week two). While she hasn’t been around children, her energy level and size might be better suited to homes with older kids or adults. Patience is a truly wonderful dog who just needs the right environment to flourish. While she has been introduced and interacted with other dogs in a controlled environment, her ideal forever home would be with male dogs of similar size and play style. Patience does require a forever home without resident small animals. She’s been doing amazing in her current foster home, and her foster highly recommends a foster-to-adopt arrangement to ensure the right fit. Story
Bruce is a 2 ½-year-old Bulldog mix with a heart as big as his goofy, lovable smile! This handsome guy has just completed a 4-week board and train program, where he polished his manners and learned lots of new skills. Now, he’s ready to find a forever family that will keep up with his training and give him the active lifestyle he thrives in!Bruce is a toy enthusiast—he’s great at tug-of-war and is learning the ropes of fetch. He enjoys playtime and would love a yard where he can zoom around! He currently lives in a foster home with a female dog, and they love to wrestle and chase each other. Bruce has also done well playing with other dogs, but he prefers to be the confident leader of the pack. With proper supervision and the right match, he could do well with a female canine sibling. In his current foster home, Bruce is cuddly, crate-trained, and housebroken. He’s food-motivated and eager to keep learning with his future family. While he can get a little nervous in busy public places, he handles it well and isn’t reactive. Bruce is looking for a medium-active to active home that will give him daily exercise through walks and playtime. Because of his physical play style and occasional nerves, he would do best in a home with children 10 years or older. If you`re looking for a playful, affectionate, and fun-loving companion who will keep you laughing with his big goofy grin, Bruce might be your perfect match! Please note Bruce is in a foster home and not available for same day meet and greets. If interested in learning more about Bruce or scheduling a meet and greet, please email the foster team at foster@cuyahogacounty.gov today!
