Story
Hello, My name is Estevan. I had adopted a puppy from PACC about 6 months ago and everything was going well. I introduced him to my current dog slowly and they get along well. My issues lately have been the dog escaping out of the yard and new people coming over he is doing what dogs do which is bark and protect, but he has already nipped and lunged at a few family members along with my daughters friends. I have to put him on a leash or kennel him as a precaution when people come over and he has to run around outside while I'm out there so he doesn't jump the fence or go under. It's not a good way for the dog to enjoy running around but I'm all out of options and don't have the means to pay from training classes. He is a great dog and would be good with someone who can put in the time to train him and have a yard that is a little more secure. I don't want to give him up but with all the circumstances I feel the dog will be a liability by escaping or actually injure someone.

Story
Goliath is an aptly named big old bubba, weighing in at close to 85 pounds. He lived in one home his entire life before coming to the shelter- here’s what his former family said about him:- He is housebroken and crate trained- He loves toys and car rides- He’s smart, playful and knows tricks- He loves the water - He’s an affectionate boy who does the cutest “awoooooos” in his sleep- He’s a goofy cartoon character of a pupGoliath is also popular at the shelter- here’s what some of his volunteer friends have said:“Goliath is such a handsome good boy! Once leashed up today, he waited very nicely at the gate-he was ready to go! He’s a strong guy but is so friendly and handles really nicely. He ignored dogs and commotion on our exit and was eager to do his business in the yard and get some energy out. He seems very people-oriented, quickly coming over whenever I stood up in the yard. He’s happy doing his own thing but likes to keep an eye on his person. He loves getting praise and affection from his handler, frequently soliciting pets by coming to my side. He sits nicely on command and followed my cues.”“Goliath was very excited when he realized I had chosen him to go for a walk. I took him to a play yard, and he ran around and sniffed. When I sat down, he tried to be a lap dog and was very friendly.”“Goliath and I have made friends in the last couple of weeks. Today I took him for a walk and he was a perfect boy. We went to a play yard first so he could run around and settle, then for a leisurely walk around the lake, ending with a dip in the kiddie pool. Very good boy.”“I took Goliath on a 2 mile hike this morning and found him to be an ideal hiking companion. He walked at a steady pace, stayed on the trails, but would politely get off to let mountain bikers or joggers pass. He did not react to them. He would occasionally stop to sniff something, but mostly kept up.”When meeting other dogs in playgroup Goliath has been social, tolerant, and easygoing overall. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit and may do best in a home without young kiddos. Goliath is a big, boisterous young boy who will benefit from training and structure in his future home. Ask to meet Goliath today!!
