Story
Kira was born on January 27, 2024.  She is a beautiful Caucasian Shepherd. Kira is no little girl! She already weighs 85 pounds!  She will most likely weigh over 100 pounds when fully grown.   Kira is showing typical behavior for her breed.  She will alert you when people are coming. She takes her time to approach them. Kira is affectionate and playful.  She has a great time playing with her rope toys outside.  She is housebroken and just loves her crate.  While Kira was at board and train, she was eCollar trained.  Kira has a medical condition known as Megaesophagus (Mega E).  Mega E is an enlargement of the esophagus which interrupts the normal flow of food to the stomach.  When Kira eats, she needs to be sitting up.  Her foster has ordered a special chair for her called a Bailey chair.  Kira will learn to get in and out of the chair, eat sitting up and will need to remain upright for 10 to 15 minutes after eating.  Kira will need inexpensive medication for the rest of her life.  The medication will help the food move down her esophagus and into her stomach.  Kira can run, play, and love on her people like any other dog. She just needs some extra TLC at feeding time.    Kira is not an SSR dog.  This is a courtesy post.  If you would like more information or are interested in adopting, please message us at dogs@shenandoahrescue.org and we will put you in touch with her foster.  Please consider welcoming beautiful Kira into your home! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 31, 2024, 10:52 pm

Story
Dior is Christmas baby and will be 2 years old December 20th. He does need to be the only animal in the home as he wants all the love and attention for himself. He has a lot of energy and will do best in an active family to help him release that energy. He recently went on a hike with our Volunteer Coordinator and she said he did great in the car and LOVED smelling all the smells and being engaged with the outdoors. He loves all people and we have been told he has lived with kids. He is a bigger pup and gets the zoomies and can get a bit nippy sometimes. He walks ok on leash but could use some training. Training would be a great way to keep him engaged and to teach him some basic manners. He also very treat motivated which will help with the training. He is a known escape artist and has scaled a 5 foot fence before so he should never be left unattended outside even if there is a fence. He is super sweet and smart and will make a great family dog with a family that is willing to put in a little extra work and patience with him. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Interested in adopting? Story
https://foha.org/pet/queen2023/ All hail me, Queen! My name is Queen, and I am a beautiful, super-sized pup with something of a regal flair. Being outdoors is where I truly come alive, and I absolutely adore going for walks. In fact, I can never get enough of them! Walking on a leash is second nature to me, and I'm always up for an adventure. Hiking is one of my absolute favorite activities, and I make a fantastic companion on those long, winding trails. There's something about the woods and parks that captivates me, and I relish the opportunity to explore nature's wonders. Splashing my paws in the streams and taking in all the different scents is pure bliss. Oh, and let's not forget my special talent for rolling in the grass-I just can't resist! Traveling in the car is a breeze for me, and I'm always on my best behavior. During the ride, you might find me gazing out the window, observing the world passing by, or chewing on a delicious treat to otherwise occupy my time. Even after a lengthy walk, I still have energy to spare. Spending time in the play yard, chasing balls, and simply hanging out with my favorite people is my idea of a good time. Now, when it comes to training, I'm highly motivated by treats. However, I could use some patient and consistent guidance from an owner who is experienced and familiar with my breed. I'm incredibly smart and eager to learn, although I must admit, sometimes I like to believe I'm the one in charge. With the right approach, I know I can become an obedient and well-trained companion. Given my size and enthusiastic approach to life, I'd be more successful with a dog closer to my size. And I would need proper introductions to make sure we're a good match! Additionally, a household without children would be most suitable for me. I thrive in an environment where I can be the center of attention and receive the love and care I deserve. If you're looking for a majestic and spirited canine companion who will make your outdoor adventures even more memorable, then I'm your girl. Together, we can conquer the world, one walk at a time. To make an appointment to meet me, please fill out an application (no obligation). Thanks for looking and hope to see you soon!

Story
He was left behind when his owners moved out. Very affectionate. He looks like a goofy, kind of floppy hound dog as he ambles around. He’s sweet and affectionate. Gets along with most dogs. He’s a little bossy with food especially with a timid dog. Feeding in a crate solves that. Loves his play time in the yard with two stout dogs. Great on a leash. The Adoption Fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea, Tick and Heartworm Treatment and Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. Tanner's adoption fee (if picked up locally in Crossville, Tennessee) is $225. If transport is needed, his adoption fee is $525 (out of state, East Coast, Great Lakes or New England regions).Thank You for Your Interest in Adopting a Canine Companion from Foccas-tn.org!To Apply Please Copy and Paste to Your Browser:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=hb2428&method=online_form_html&formid=41LOCATED IN CROSSVILLE, CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hello my name is Jellyroll Breed: Mastiff mix Age: 3 The ladies at the rescue say im super friendly but could use some house manners lol. I was found on the streets by the shelter so no wonder why I don't have any but that's okay I just need to learn and find someone willing to put in the time and patience. I do love male dogs around my size but I dont like to share my kibble. With me having food guarding issues be best to feed me separately. I haven't been cat tested yet and due to my size it be best for me to be around older children. I'm spayed, microchipped and up to date on my vaccines. Story
Tucker became a resident at the shelter after his owner passed. You can tell he was well loved and cared for. Tucker has a lot of energy and is strong on a lead, but with a little work he would make a great walking/trail buddy. He could entertain himself playing with a soccer ball for hours. He is treat motivated, a fast learner, enjoys scratches, but most of all running around and being near people. He also knows how to sit and give paw. With all the changes he has been through recently he is still a happy and loving pup.
