Story
Kratos is a purebred Boerboel (South African Mastiff) from Indian Creek Boerboels. He will be 5 years old on 10/11. Genetic testing through Wisdom Panel has him cleared of the genetic mutations that they test for. Boerboels are usually known for being territorial guard dogs, but that is not Kratos. He is great with all sizes of humans and other animals. He's completed basic and intermediate pet training through Petsmart. He can be stubborn like a classic Boerboel, but he is well trained. He would be great as a single pet or with new furry siblings. As long as he can be your velcro dog, he would be living the dream. We are needing to rehome Kratos due to my husband and I having chronic pain issues. He loves walks and playing tug of ware but our bodies can't handle it with his 96lbs self. I would love from him to be with someone who can do what he loves. Due to his breed, I would like for him to be with someone with experience with stubborn and/or giant breed dogs.

To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event he will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/. (*Please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending each event.*) Say hello to Jack Spratt! Contrary to what the old nursery rhyme says, this Jack Spratt is a big ol’ boy. Weighing in at 90 lbs., this 2-year-old Mastiff mix, with his beautiful brown coat and striking black facial markings, is a true head-turner—even if he does come with a bit of drool that’s classic to his breed. And don’t let his massive head, giant paws, or large frame fool you—Jack is a total sweetheart who’s full of love, greeting you with wagging tails, gentle sniffs, and laid-back vibes. Jack loves walks, gets along well with other dogs, and leans in close for pets like he’s known you forever. He’s ready to start his next chapter with a loving family who appreciates the finer things—like snuggles, head boops, and pleasurable strolls around the neighborhood. If you're into chill, big-hearted companions, Jack’s your guy. You just gotta be cool with a little drool. Come meet and fall in love with this gentle giant today!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER: Otis is a 2 1⁄2 year old, who is still learning to be a dog. He is very loving with his humans and likes to play and romp with the other dogs. HISTORY: Otis was given up by the family that had him since a puppy due to anxiety issues. In his short time with us he has overcome much of the anxiety although we do keep him on 2mg of Xanax daily (down from 4mg). Otis wants to protect his people so he has “bum-rushed” visitors at times which can seem scary but no bites of any kind have been encountered. It was these behaviors that caused his family to give him up. That said he was also kept in a crate 10 hours per day. PERSONALITY: Sweet, lovable, and definitely a good boy who loves his people. Otis loves attention and is learning to be “gentle” when taking snacks. He has come far in the short time he has been with his foster family. Learning to not listen and behave well with the other dogs when snacks are being handed out. Otis loves the big backyard where he can hang out with his fur buddies and romp and play. Otis does not want to be in a crate whatsoever and is good when left alone in the house. FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: Otis likes to play and mouth box with the other big dogs and does well with the small dogs as well. MEDICAL ISSUES: None known WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME: Otis needs a home that can continue to show him love and patience and provide ongoing routine and training. He has a beautiful soul and likes Popeye Candy sticks whenever he can get his foster Mom to give him one or two. A large carrot in the morning is a great snack and he eats veggies and fruit with dinner or for a snack each day. Otis will need a home where he is not crated and can have people home with him most of the day. I do not recommend small children as he is still learning and needs guidance. He is fine with our grandsons but I would not put that pressure on him on a daily basis. Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. Important notes before applying. Adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina. We will not adopt giant breed dogs to renters. Homes with children under 6 years of age will not be approved for adoption. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Pets currently in the applicant's home must have a history of appropriate veterinary care. Homes with intact dogs will not be approved for adoption.  Proof of any of the following exceptions is required: The intact dog is a working member of a law enforcement, or search and rescue/recovery team. The intact dog is registered under the auspices of the American Kennel Club and is actively being shown. A veterinarian has determined the sterilization procedure would harm the intact dog.  We believe in Force Free Training Methods and do not approve of methods or devices using pain or force to control the dog, or to deter undesirable behavior.  Homes with highly varnished steps must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. **We encourage you to remediate potential safety issues while your application is under review, prior to the home visit. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER: Maddie (aka Sully Madison) - Pawfect Puppy Package! HISTORY: unknown PERSONALITY: Sully Madison is fun loving and intelligent. Sully is great with our resident children, older male super senior dog, and hyperactive female puppy. Sully warms up to strangers very quickly after an initial boop of curiosity. Sully is a quick learner as she aims to please. Sully loves toys and treats. FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: Sully Madison’s favorite activities include cuddling, romping, playing, basking in the sun, napping, snuggling, booping at the robo-vac, belly rubs, and zoomies. MEDICAL ISSUES: unaware of any WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME: A home where Sully will get lots of love and cuddles. While Sully is crate trained, she prefers not to be in her crate, thus a home where Sully would be accompanied by another canine companion and human or would be with the human most of the day may be best. Sully may benefit immensely from having a confident somewhat older or disciplined canine companion for her to learn from and bond with. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Sully Madison will chew collars and harnesses if kept on while inside. **Puppy Adoption Policy: To ensure proper house training and socialization, puppies will only be adopted to homes where an adult will not be away more than an hour per day, per month of age of the puppy, up to 6 months. Adopters will be required to enroll the puppy into training and provide proof to Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue within 6 months of adopting.  Certain large-breed dogs should not be sterilized before 12 - 18 months of age. If you adopt an intact puppy, you will sign an adoption contract agreeing to have the dog sterilized at your expense at the time your veterinarian recommends. Proof of sterilization must be provided to Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue as soon as the procedure is completed. If the puppy is not sterilized as required, Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue reserves the right to claim legal ownership of the dog.  Important notes before applying. Story
Imagine finding a tiny, shivering soul, barely five weeks old, abandoned on the cold, unforgiving edge of a highway. That was Archer. He and his brother, covered in fleas and desperately malnourished, were found just in time, their fragile lives hanging in the balance. Thankfully, a loving foster family opened their hearts and home, offering them warmth, care, and a second chance. The first time his fosters took Archer and his brother into the backyard, the fear of being abandoned again was overwhelming. They ran back to their fosters, crying and shaking, a heart-wrenching reminder of their difficult start. Archer's journey has been one of resilience and transformation. He's blossomed in his foster home, surrounded by a menagerie of furry and feathered friends – dogs, cats, goats, ducks, and chickens. He's learned the joy of playful romps with big dogs, the gentle art of respecting boundaries (mostly!), and the comfort of snuggling close to a warm lap. This sweet boy, with the most endearing face you've ever seen, is a cuddle connoisseur. He'll happily settle on your lap, or as close as he can get, showering you with affection. He's a true helper, always eager to be involved in whatever you're doing. He's treat-motivated, which makes training a breeze, though he might need some guidance to remember that everyone has their own food bowl! Archer is kennel trained, but he's used to a bustling household filled with love and activity. He sleeps with a pillow, often burrowing under blankets, and he cherishes the feeling of being held close – a comfort he discovered as a tiny, vulnerable pup. Now, at about five months old and 40 pounds, Archer is growing into a big, strong boy, but his heart remains as tender as ever. He's searching for a forever home where he can share his boundless love and loyalty. He'd thrive with a family who understands his gentle nature, continues his training, and cherishes his affectionate spirit. Archer's journey began in hardship, but his story is one of hope and the enduring power of love. Will you be the one to write the next chapter of his happy ever after?
