Story
Attention mastiff lovers! Allow me to introduce Sunshine (45391) a beautiful female 2 year old mastiff. Sunshine was found as a stray, so the shelter does not know of her past. Sunshine is an active young girl that would highly benefit from obedience training as she is still working on jumping and learning to walk nicely on the leash. She is food motivated, knows how to sit, and takes treats nicely from your hand. Sometimes Sunshine does not realize how big she is and needs reminders, she would do best in a home that is experienced with large dog breeds. She can be playful and still needs prompting to play with her toys and not jump up to get attention. She would do best in a home with no children under 12 because of this and her size. We recommend bringing in your dog(s) to meet Sunshine to make sure they get along and it is a good match.  Visit during our Animal Viewing hours below to meet and apply on her. Location: Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center 8576 Davis Rd Columbia, MD 21045 You can call first to see if this pet is still available: 410-313-2780 Option 0. Applications are accepted in person at our facility after you visit this pet out of their cage. Animal Viewing Hours: Mon, Wed, Fri 10:00-4:30 (Closed at 2:30 the last Friday of each month) Tues & Thurs 1:30-6:45 Sat 10:00-2:00 (Closed on county observed holidays and holiday weekends.)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 29, 2024, 5:45 pm

Story
Name: Shaq Sex: Male Estimated Age: About a year old Best Guess for Breed: Mixed Breed Mastiff Dog Weight: About 60 lbs Lives With: Dogs and adults (including kids). Housebroken? Shaq is housebroken. He is currently working on crate training (making great progress!) and learning his basic commands. Story: Shaq was rescued from a shelter locally in Washington, DC. Shaq is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. He knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with his humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Shaq is just looking for someone to be his new best furend and we know that he will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. As a puppy, Shaq will need an adopter who is committed to setting him up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising him both mentally and physically. He will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Shaq is really just the best, and we absolutely adore him. He is 100% the most cuddly dog we have fostered and is an absolute ham. He’s great with other dogs and all humans. He’s fully potty trained and only goes to the bathroom outside. He’s good on the leash, but can be a little mouthy when he plays (like a typical puppy) - we are working with him to correct this behavior and he’s responding really well to training. He has lived with kids and other dogs and does great. He’s a great, happy boy and will make a fabulous family dog or companion! The fee to adopt Shaq is $450. That covers the cost of all his vaccines, the collar he’s wearing, his transport to DC and his care in his foster home. He’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines and neutered. Shaq has been seen by a shelter vet and we are not aware of any health issues. If you think that Shaq might be your perfect match, apply today!November 3, 2024, 3:56 pm

Story
Gavin is my "given" name... but my foster mom calls me Gavin-PATTY... I mean.. do I LOOK LIKE A PATTY???? I am a BOY puppy! I do NOT identify as PATTY! OK, now that you know my foster mom is kind of mean to me, you will likely want to ADOPT ME and get me away from the pronoun confused foster mom! I mean, she has a MASTERS degree, but cannot get my NAME right?? Who voted her onto the island anyway?? I DEMAND A RECOUNT! I am a fantastic pup, delivered to the rescue by a kid going into the "Marines" and she couldn't KEEP me.... i say, NO MARINE DOES THAT! Ok, enough of my indignency! I am a beautiful boy who has a lifetime to live with real pawrents and real sisters and brothers! When i came to the rescue, even though I have distinctive St Bernard kind of markings and face... I was small... but I will tell you... ONE THING the foster "mom" got right is the VITTLES! Cause I am growing like a literal weed! My feet are growing exponentially too. However, I am likely a St Bernard mixed with a smaller kind of dog because I am not NEARLY St Bernard size as a puppy so expect me maybe to hang out well under 100#. But my personality and LOVE know NO SIZE. I am a great pup, I have a silly habit of pretending to bite a finger to get your love and attention. I would be best in a home with another pup or dog to grow up with, I am a social social boy! Look at my video.. I run like the wind! And Piglet, Mika and I have a blast together! I am waiting for you to fill out the application!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
