Story
Dog:Beatrice Age:1-2 Weight: 100lbs Location: Bucks County Nicknames: Bea Good with other dogs?: Dog selective.Beatrice gets along with our young, submissive American Bulldog, but has been a bit bossy and protective about sharing toys or bones. She has been able to share beds, and spaces without an issue. Would probably be best as an only dog, or as the sibling to a submissive male who does not care about toys. She is a bit obnoxious when seeing other dogs while on walks, but if she meets them, and they are calm, its not an issue. She has been going on our pack walks and doing well. Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat Good with children? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with kids under 10 Activity Preference: Low maintenance overall but needs quality outside time. IQ: Smart Beatrice's favorite things: Beatrice is so sweet! She loves spending time with her people while cuddling on the couch. She Loves belly rubs, chewing bones, and playing with toys. She will throw her toys in the air and pounce on them to play. Beatrice is good at: meeting people, behaving in the house, going for car rides, making me feel safe, cuddling, playing Ideal home: someone at home most of the day, a fenced yard Training Needs: socialization with dogs, leash training, needs obedience training Health issues: Meet Beatrice Beatrice is a beautiful, big mastiff type girl. She will do best in a home with people who are experienced in handling a very large, strong, powerful and a bit stubborn dog. She is BIG! She would do best with a family who works from home or will not leave her for long periods of time. She has big bark and is not afraid to use it! She is so sweet with every person she meets. She has not issues with her foster parents taking toys or food away from her.She was a stray taken to ACCT in philly and has been adjusting to life in a foster home with a yard and foster sibling. She is BIG! She does really well going to the bathroom outside, but has had a few accidents. She does not love the crate, in fact she has escaped from two. We have been slowly getting her used to a special, heavy duty crate. She would however, prefer to be left out of the crate if possible.   We think Beatrice is either a Boerboel or a Bullmastiff.   PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Story
Hi there, I`m Duke. I`ve got a heart as big as my bark and I`m ready to share it. I`m a sweet guy, but sometimes the world makes me a bit nervous so I can be a bit defensive if I’m unsure of the situation. I could use a patient teacher to help me understand it better and learn how to navigate through that fear. I enjoy the company of my fellow shelter pals and, oh boy, do I love treats! I can`t resist a good biscuit. I`m looking for a special someone who can handle all the love I have to give, and my XL size too. I`m eager to learn, I promise. I just need guidance. I`ve got lots of love to give, I just need the right person to share it with. Can that be you? Let`s learn and grow together. I`m not just looking for a home, I`m looking for a best friend. Adopt me and let`s start our adventure together.

Story
Name: Shaq Sex: Male Estimated Age: About a year old Best Guess for Breed: Mixed Breed Mastiff Dog Weight: About 60 lbs Lives With: Dogs and adults (including kids). Housebroken? Shaq is housebroken. He is currently working on crate training (making great progress!) and learning his basic commands. Story: Shaq was rescued from a shelter locally in Washington, DC. Shaq is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. He knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with his humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Shaq is just looking for someone to be his new best furend and we know that he will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. As a puppy, Shaq will need an adopter who is committed to setting him up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising him both mentally and physically. He will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Shaq is really just the best, and we absolutely adore him. He is 100% the most cuddly dog we have fostered and is an absolute ham. He’s great with other dogs and all humans. He’s fully potty trained and only goes to the bathroom outside. He’s good on the leash, but can be a little mouthy when he plays (like a typical puppy) - we are working with him to correct this behavior and he’s responding really well to training. He has lived with kids and other dogs and does great. He’s a great, happy boy and will make a fabulous family dog or companion! The fee to adopt Shaq is $450. That covers the cost of all his vaccines, the collar he’s wearing, his transport to DC and his care in his foster home. He’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines and neutered. Shaq has been seen by a shelter vet and we are not aware of any health issues. If you think that Shaq might be your perfect match, apply today!November 3, 2024, 3:56 pm
