Story
Moski is a 2 year old, male, Mastiff mix who is available for adoption at CCHS. He was brought to us because his previous owner became ill and could no longer take care of him. He has a lot of energy and loves to play outside. This boy would do best with a family familiar with mastiff's and handling a dog so large. Once he's all tuckered out he is very sweet and loves cuddles. If you are interested please come by to meet his big love bug. Are you interested in adopting Moski? Submit an adoption application for him at the link below, then call us at 217-344-7297 to make your application active: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CCIL/Dog Once your application has been made active, we will begin processing it the following day. Upon approval of your adoption request for Moski, an adoption counselor will contact you to arrange an in-person meet and greet with Moski and one of our staff members. If you have any specific questions about Moski, do not hesitate to call us at 217-344-7297. Thank you for your interest in providing our special boy with a forever home! Moski is a STAFF FAVORITE pet! Here's what our volunteer coordinator, Sarah has to say about him: Moski is an incredibly loving, smart, determined, hard-working, and all-around special dog. He adores cuddling and playing, though, at times, his excitement has gotten the best of him, especially when he’s around the people he loves most. As an XL dog, his enthusiasm has sometimes led to joyful (but unintentional) airborne moments for his favorite handlers. Because of his size and boundless affection, we knew we needed to help Moski refine his manners. Not to dampen his spirit, but to make sure his joy was shared in a way that kept everyone on their feet. Through this journey, I’ve learned that Moski would do absolutely anything for a treat, thrives on positive reinforcement, and is one of the fastest learners I’ve ever worked with. One of my favorite things about him is watching his forehead scrunch up in deep concentration as he works out exactly what he needs to do to earn his reward. It’s moments like those that make you realize just how much heart and soul he puts into everything he does. He has worked so hard to channel his enthusiasm in the right ways, proving time and time again how dedicated he is — not just to learning, but to finding his forever family. Moski is truly one of a kind. His resilience, intelligence, and affectionate nature have left an undeniable mark on my heart, and I have no doubt that he will do the same for whoever is lucky enough to bring him home. Without a doubt, working with Moski has been the highlight of my years at CCHS, and I will always be grateful for the time I’ve spent with him. If you take a chance on Moski, I know he will amaze you just as he has amazed me.

Story
Luck is in the air this March! Our pets are hoping to be lucky in love with a new best friend by the end of the month. We are having a "Lucky in Love" special and have reduced the fee on quite a few of our available pets. Any pets marked with the "Lucky in Love" sticker, have had their adoption fee reduced in hopes to meet their match this month! Adult dogs a part of this adoption special have had their adoption fee reduced to $99.00. Adult cats that qualify for this special have been reduced to $25.00. Some have even had their adoption fee sponsored. Apply now! Meet Tiny, our hilariously named 2-year-old male Mastiff mix who is anything but tiny in personality! This big goofball is full of love and just wants to be your best buddy. He enjoys belly rubs, clumsy zoomies in the yard, and will happily be your shadow wherever you go. Tiny is still figuring out his size sometimes, so a home with some space would be ideal. He's a sweet and gentle soul who is ready to fill your life with laughter and unconditional love. If you're looking for a lovable lug who will make you smile every day, come meet Tiny! Alright, buckle up buttercups, because you're about to meet Louie, and trust me, your life is about to get approximately 78% more awesome (give or take a belly rub). All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After we review your completed survey we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on that day. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart: Park in the PetSmart Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. PCH supports a 21-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we are not able to provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!
