Samsun is a big, sweet boy who needs a Forever Home, boarding with me since New Years when his owner relocated and has since decided to surrender him. Samsun is big but very mellow and well socialized. Happy hanging out in fenced yard but otherwise keeps himself entertained with his toys when indoors. Playtime in yard seems to be enuf exercise - he would enjoy walks but I don't think he's a distance jogger. Great couch companion if you're a reader or work at home, or can take him along to office. Perfectly house trained and calm when left alone unkenneled for hours in LR; so a working family or responsible student probably fine if attentive when you are home. He's been good natured and friendly with animals he's met here through fences (cats, goats). I think he was raised Euro-style, riding along with owner for errands & visiting. Knows to sit & wait, and plays fetch, without jumping up on folks. Not a barker. Fee includes XL crate, bed, leashes, & toys

Meet Groot! 🌳 Do you love BIG dogs? Groot is your guy. He is currently underweight and is just over 100 lbs. We expect he should be closer to 120 lbs+ as he is a bit thin at the moment. We believe he is about 3 years old. Groot came to us as a stray and seems to have had a rough start. He had a terrible case of "happy tail" where the tip of his tail was ulcerated and bleeding constantly, and despite our best efforts, he ended up needing a tail amputation. He now has the cutest little nub tail. Since his arrival, Groot has also been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and heartworm tested negative. This sweet boy has an amazing demeanor, seems to be ok with other animals and all humans alike. Rides well in the car. He would love to find a home soon. Meet Duke! A two year old Mastiff mix that is looking for his forever family. In the home he is house broken, crate trained, and loves to be with his humans. As an XL breed dog, he could still use some reinforcement of basic manners. He's very strong on leash and tends to jump and get a little mouthy when he plays or gets excited. A family with large breed experience that is willing to invest some time and energy into basic training would be ideal. Another requirement would be no children under 10. Outside the home, Duke is a tad insecure and can be slightly reactive to new dogs. After a quick introduction, however, he does great (especially with female dogs). He can, however, tend to get too excited and possessive over toys so a family that can maintain boundaries in their home would be required. As for cats... this big boy LOVES them and would have no problem sharing his space with a dog savvy feline. This big-hearted boy has so much affection to give and is eagerly waiting for his forever family to come along. Inside the home, Duke is already a model citizen in many ways. He's fully house broken, comfortable in his crate, and absolutely adores being around his humans. Like many young dogs his size, he's still growing into his massive paws and personality. Duke would benefit from some continued reinforcement of his basic manners - he's quite strong on leash and gets so excited during playtime that he sometimes jumps up or gets a bit mouthy when his enthusiasm takes over. Duke would thrive with a family who has previous large breed experience and is willing to invest some time into his continued training. Due to his size and exuberance, we're looking for a home without children under 10 years old. He's not trying to be rambunctious - he just doesn't always realize how big he is! When meeting new dogs, Duke can be a bit unsure of himself initially and can be slightly reactive. The good news is that after a quick, proper introduction, he does wonderfully with other canines, especially female dogs. He does get excited around toys and food, so clear boundaries are important.
