Story
Loving, curious, and goofy South African Mastiff (also know as Boerboel). Born 2/17/2022 (2 1/2 years old). She has been raised with another dog, a cat, and two kids. Was crate trained but has not been in a crate in over a year. She sleeps on a dog bed or a space somewhere on the floor where she finds comfortable. She is not spayed. She goes on walks without a leash and does not run away for the most part (occasionally will disobey and walk up to other dogs to sniff). Sensitive to food changes. About 110 lbs. Mario

Story
Nugget is back in rescue and we are thrilled to have him.Nugget is a lovable 6-year-old Shepherd mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality! Sadly, his previous family could no longer care for him, and he returned to our rescue significantly overweight. But don’t worry—Nugget is already on the road to a healthier lifestyle with the “green bean diet” and regular exercise, and he’s making great progress! He’s a bit of a “bull in a china shop” for now, but that’s just his playful spirit shining through. Nugget does well with other dogs and is fantastic with kids—he grew up in a home with several children and absolutely adored them.Nugget does have some separation anxiety, so a home where someone is around most of the time or a family with staggered schedules would be ideal. He thrives on companionship and would love a family that can help him feel secure and loved while continuing his weight-loss journey. If you’re ready to welcome a sweet, goofy, and loyal companion into your life, Nugget is waiting to meet you. He’ll repay your love with endless cuddles and devotion. Could you be the perfect match for Nugget? Story
Meet Sander!!!! Sander came to the shelter in Mississippi as a stray. He also tested positive for heartworm. So he was on the euthanasia list immediately. How could we let such an awesome dog who has so much love to give be put to sleep for no reason ? Fetching Hearts stepped up for him and brought him through his treatment and also got him ready to go. Now that Sander is ready to go to his forever family, we are going to tell you a little bit about him. Sander absolutely adores all his human beings that he has met in the past and now going forward. He thinks he's a lap dog and will get in your lap to give you lots of hugs and snuggles. Sander is a dog who can be on his own or with a friend who likes to chill out like he does. Sander does play here and there, but most often he likes to chill out and be snuggled up. His favorite thing is toys. Sander will actually spread his toys over the yard so he can share with his humans or friends. Sander would enjoy going on walks or hikes and also even running around in the backyard while you're doing yard work. He does do fairly well on leash but will sometimes pull when he gets excited. When sander sees you for the first time after being at work, his whole body will wiggle and his tail will wag so hard. He gets super excited when he gets to see his people but he does calm down. This is why we feel he should go with older kids as well just because of his size. Sander cannot wait to finally find his forever family! He has waited so long and now he is ready to go and explore the world with you. Apply for Sander today and you will get lots of love and kisses from him!! He will help you do the same for him. If interested in Sander, please apply online: ADOPTION APPLICATION or email us at Info.FetchingHeartsRescue@gmail.com. Unless otherwise indicated, all dogs adopted through Fetching Hearts have received the following before being available for adoption: Thorough veterinary examination. All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP Bordatella (Kennel Cough) Heartworm Test Fecal Test, Deworming Microchip Flea and Tick Prevention Heartworm Prevention. Spay/Neuter All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease. VETTING NOTE: Fetching Hearts Rescue completely vets our dogs thoroughly to the best of our knowledge based on communication with our Southern Vets. If anything is brought to our attention, we treat the dog. After adopting the dog, you will be responsible for following up with all vetting going forward. HEARTWORM NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 5-6 months from the last Heartworm treatment. Personality traits Affectionate, Brave, Couch, Curious, Friendly, Funny, Gentle, Independent, Loves, Loyal, Playful, Smart
